We are new patients of Dr. Handschuh and The Dental Design Center and we cannot be more pleased. Dr. Handschuh's #1 priority is to make sure the patient is comfortable and completely informed before he does anything. His Staff is amazing with the same high level of care for each and every patient. You almost feel like he is just your personal Dentist. We cannot say enough of this amazing practice and we feel we will be patients for life here.

I came to Dr. Handschuh to re-do my veneers after another dentist had done them incorrectly. I was very upset about having to re-do them, but Dr. Handschuh made the process as easy and comfortable as possible. He spent over an hour on the initial consult, listening to my concerns, explaining what needed fixing and how he could fix it, and going through all the possible options. He was honest and upfront about how much could be done and answered follow-up questions I had via email. I appreciated how he laid out everything so there were no surprises, I knew exactly what was happening each appointment, how much it would cost, what the next steps would be and how long it would take. At each appointment, he took all the time I wanted to answer all my (many) questions and even saw me for an additional appointment to answer questions I had about the temporaries I was wearing during the two-week interim period. Dr. Handschuh clearly cares about his patients and the outcomes of their procedures.

I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Handschuh. I contacted his office following a dental emergency, and he quickly accommodated me into his schedule the very same day. At each of the subsequent visits, he and his staff were warm and professional, providing excellent care and individualized follow-up. I highly recommend Dr. Handschuh!

Dr. Ira Handschuh and the Dental Design Center are the gold standard for dentistry in the tri-state area. I’ve lived here for almost twenty years, and in that time, for a variety of reasons, have had almost as many dentists! After bouncing around from practice to practice, and suffering through the work of dentists of questionable skill and the lukewarm work ethic of their front office staffs, I was delighted to find Dr. Ira Handschuh. My initial appointment was for an emergency, and he saw me immediately. He did not just address the emergency situation (a crown that was MIA), but did a complete cleaning and examination to thoroughly familiarize himself with my teeth and general health. The fact that Dr. Handschuh conducted the entire visit, including the cleaning, himself, was my first indication that this experience was going to be different. Following the cleaning, exam, and x-rays, Dr. Handschuh sat down with me and explained everything that was going on in my mouth, not only with my missing crown, but with all of the other quirks, oddities and areas of concern. He didn’t withhold or hoard the technical information, but rather treated me like an intelligent adult who could handle all the details and had a right to know them. At no time during the appointment did I feel rushed, and I was invited to ask questions both while I was in the office, and afterward by either phone or email – handily paving the way for getting answers to all those questions that pop up on the drive home.

From the waiting room, to the exam room, to the appointment and billing desk (artfully and professionally overseen by Dr. Handschuh’s wife, Robin) going to the Dental Design Center is a treat. I always leave feeling like this is a dentist who really cares about how I’m doing, and will do everything he can to make sure I’m getting the care, information, and help that I need. I’ve been a patient of far too many dentists, and I can say with confidence, there really is no one better.

After struggling to find the right dentist, I finally found Dr. Handschuh. During my first appointment he made me feel extremely comfortable and confident that I would be able to have the perfect smile I always wanted. He only schedules one appointment at a time and really gives you undivided attention. He spent a lot of time reviewing my options until I was certain of my choices... and he delivered everything he promised and more. Thank you so much Dr. Handschuh and staff for giving me the smile I always wanted but never thought was possible! I feel more confident than ever!

Dr. Handschuh and his staff are truly amazing. As a person who feared the dentist for most of my adult life, I never kept regular appointments for check-ups. From the minute I walked into the office, Dr. Handschuh's primary goal was to keep me comfortable and relaxed. He spent time trying to understand what was causing my fear and was focused on showing me that going to the dentist should be a pain-free, easy experience. He and his staff literally held my hand throughout my treatment and were incredibly compassionate and patient. I have been his patient for over 5 years now and have never missed a regular check up since. Thanks to Dr. Handschuh and his staff, I am no longer an anxious dental patient.

We recently moved to Dobbs Ferry and I needed a dentist to re-cement a crown that had come off an implant. Google led me to Dr. Handschuh and, after my first visit for my implant and my subsequent visit for a cleaning, I understand why he has a perfect five-star rating. Not only did he leave me feeling completely confident in his expertise with implants and dental procedures, Dr. Handschuh is sincerely kind and caring. It is such a pleasure to go into his offices and to be so well-looked after by everyone. This is also the first time I had my teeth cleaned where I didn't have any pain. We'll be going to him now for all of our dental needs. I can highly recommend him. UPDATE: I went back to have a thirty-year-old filling replaced at the very back of my mouth, a procedure that has been scaring me away from having it done for a number of years now. I am so relieved and impressed with how Dr. Handschuh ensured I was pain free and was able to get into what is probably the most difficult place to reach in one's mouth. The after care is impressive. I received an email in the evening to make sure I was okay and that the tooth wasn't acting up. The email wasn't an autosend; he was on the other end as he responded immediately after I let him know all was good. The service and care is the best I've ever had!

I am very pleased with Dr. Handschuh. He is exactly what you want your dentist to be: highly skilled, a perfectionist, personable, kind and accommodating. Dr. Handschuh also has a terrific team backing him up, including Marisol, the highly accomplished hygienist, and Robin, the insurance guru and receptionist. My two grown daughters are also patients of Dr. Handschuh even though they live in Manhattan (where there is no shortage of dentists). It is worth it to them to stay with a dentist in whom they have complete confidence, even if it means waking early and traveling to the 'burbs on a Saturday morning. That says a lot.

It took me a while before I wrote this review (busy traveling) but I've been to many dentists throughout my life for multitude of reasons in regards to my teeth and I can honestly say that Dr. Handschuh is by far the best overall dentist I've seen. The knowledge and professionalism of Dr. Handschuh and staff was remarkable. The main reason why I decided to stay with Dr. Handschuh before deciding on a cosmetic fix up, were the options that were provided to me. He was genuinely concerned about what I thought. I met with a few other professionals before deciding and the options weren't there, I didn't feel comfortable, as if I was just one of many. If you're looking for a professional who genuinely cares about their clients' needs, I promise you won't be disappointed. Will be going back as well as recommending family/friends.

Dr. Handschuh has been our family dentist for over 20 years. Dr. Handschuh and his team have provided outstanding service all those years. Just as important, all of this is done with a great attitude. His practice is not only extremely prompt and courteous, which is very hard to find nowadays in a doctor's office, but they always do seem to take that extra step. Over the years, when any of my family members had procedures, Dr. Handschuh always followed up to see how we were doing and if we had any other questions or concerns. With our family of 7, there always seems to be emergencies going on during the year! Anytime we needed Dr. Handschuh, no matter the day or time, he has been there for us. This is why we continue to utilize his services, and are always recommending him to our family and friends.
