Carolina Mountain Dental

I have been a dental patient of Dr. Efird for 15 years and Dr. Pless prior to that. The office is run in a very professional manner. The entire staff makes you feel at home. One time, Dr. Efird came to the office on Saturday to repair a chipped tooth as I was leaving the next day on a trip. I will never forget that.

No one "wants" to go to the dentist! 0 stars, right?! But, since we all have to, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better group! So 5 stars, and deservedly so! Dr. Efird and staff are exceptional. They keep on top of the latest equipment improvements and practices, so that you can keep your teeth and have them looking their best. Dr. Efird is a perfectionist, too, and, believe me, that is something you want in a dentist. On one occassion, Dr. Efird came in on a weekend to fix a tooth for me that was causing pain. Name another doctor who would do that! Jessica, the hygienist, is terrific. Kathy and Vicky, in the front office, are always cheerful and professional. They'll brighten your day even if you have a cavity! Trust me. You will thank me later.

Dental hygienist was short and to the point. Dr Efird barely spoke... very rude little man. Acted as if I was imposing on his time when I asked for a schedule and pricing for dental work.

Dr Efird, You make this seem like a financial issue.... I could pay for all the dental work at one time and up front. It is your attitude towards me as a patient that is up for debate. I felt rushed through the cleaning. I wanted a panoramic x-ray to compare to panoramic x-ray taken before my accident. But no, your dental hygienist used the x-rays you prefer. I have always paid in cash or debit card for all services. I promise you I will get another dentist with manners.

Dr. Efird and his staff were very courteous, caring and conscientious when it came to my dental work. I am so happy with the work that has been done and I will be sure to use Carolina Mountain Dental for any other future dental work. If you are looking for a place that places patient care at the top of their list of priorities, then Dr. Efird and Carolina Mountain Dental is the place for you. Dr. Efird and his staff are the BEST! All in his office make your visit comfortable and relaxing. They are professionals. I always arrrive for a visit to many smiles and leave with a BIG smile on my face. I have fun going to the Dentist. So glad to have Dr. Efird in WNC.

Got me right in with an emergency as a new patient. Fast, and took care of all my worries and fixed the emergency all in the first visit. My smile looks great again and I have found my new dentist! Office staff is very friendly and helpful.

I love my hygienist Jessica. And Dr. Efird has provided me excellent dental care for nearly 8 years without always trying to "upsell" me on other products or procedures. As a result I have excellent dental health. I tried another practice when I first arrived in Asheville 10 years ago and after less than 2 years I was fed up with high prices and a continuous rotation of hygienists. Thank you Jeff and Jessica!

Dr. Elfred and his staff are experienced, talented, caring and focused on their clients. I enjoy visiting because they have my best interest at heart and want me to be healthy. I appreciate their concern about me as an individual and the experience is terrific!

Very disappointed in regards to their billing practice. I was provided a quote for cleaning/scaling for 2 visits for a total of 600.00. Asked if they took my insurance and they said, of course we take Aetna, but wasn't informed they were out of network, therefore I ended up paying $900.00 out of pocket. Plus they received partial insurance payments too. When I talked with the Billing department and asked for help and clarity from her or talk with the Dentist Jeffrey Efrid no such call back or help was provided. When I called back to the billing department, she stayed there wasn't anything they could do so I just paid the bill. Buyer beware of their billing practices before you commit. Every office should be fully aware of how much an insurance provider will cover before providing a rate quote for services, plus I had Aetna, not an obscure insurance provider!
A KNOWLEDGEABLE Dental office should be capable of answering not only do you take Aetna insurance, but you are either in-network or not. This make a huge difference on what I should pay. Your office quickly stated yes to the insurance and incorrectly based by quote, not estimate of said guess, I wasn't provided anything to sign as your lengthy rebuttal stated. Again, buyer Beware of stated dollars for service rendered.

The staff is always very courteous, caring and professional. I know they really care about providing the best possible experience for me. I feel my complete medical well being is most important to them at all times.
