I was disappointed in my visit at Keldsen Family Dental. I read great reviews. I booked appointments for both my husband and I and the receptionist was very friendly and efficient. I got there and the place was great. My hygienist was friendly and the cleaning was as good as I have had.
Why then 2 stars?
Both the dentist and the hygienist recommended that I have my remaining 2 wisdom teeth out because they could cause problems down the road. They even went as far as to say that I should talk to the person at the front desk to see about verifying my That by itself is not such a big deal, right? But when you combine that with the fact that there is nothing wrong with my wisdom teeth, that they told my husband the same thing even though there is nothing wrong with any of his teeth (he has never even had a cavity), and that they made the same recommendation to every other patient that was there at the same time I was... well... it starts to become a problem.
In my mind - this is the equivalent of going to your primary care doctor and having them say, "Well - you look to be in good shape but your appendix could cause you problems later in life - so I recommend that we just go ahead and have it removed now."
Initially - I didn't worry too much about it. Just upselling... right? No harm. But - about a week ago my tooth started to feel more sensitive than normal and become a bit achey. Could be that I brushed too vigorously... could be a start of a cavity. Normally I wouldn't go in to see a dentist at this point but I happen to be going away for a few weeks so figured I should get it checked out. I had to find a new dentist because no matter what Dr Keldson recommended, I would not be able to trust it. even if he said it was a small cavity and I needed a filling. DID I actually need a filling? Or is this the wisdom tooth recommendation happening all over again?
So - while everyone is very personable and I have no complaints about the service - the fact that they recommend an expensive, painful, and not-riskless surgery to all of their patients just on the basis that "something could go wrong in the future" means that they do not have my trust. And without trust, a dentist is pretty much useless.

I have been with Dental Hygenist Lindsay Scott for at least ten years, and now she's going to move! I told her I'd have to fly to Colorado every three months to have her expert care. I will now be in Macy's hands, and feel confident she'll be just as wonderful as Lindsay has been. Meanwhile, my grandson is going to have surgery with Dr. Keldsen, and I am very impressed with him, know that Mitchell is is very good hands.

I notified them ahead of time and they were very helpful in providing the information I need it. I was able to keep my appt and when I showed up the front desk had a summary print out of what my insurance covered. My visit was routine clearing. In and out
