Dr. Wieseler is the best dentist in the Northwest! After Dr. Spomer retired we were concerned that Dr. Wieseler wouldn't be as good. But he has surpassed our expectations and my family couldn't ask for a more professional, friendly, and skillful dentist and staff. We are very grateful for Desert Dental and highly recommend them.

I went to this dentist with a young lady who was concerned about going alone for fear of the dentist. I have never used this clinic as a patient but was pretty stunned by the patient care. The first appointment, they did nothing except x-rays. They berated the patient and degraded her. After an hour of bullying by the hygienist and my friend almost in tears, they had her reschedule 2 appointments. They tried to sell her an over-priced gel, they couldn't tell us if it was actually proven to help.
Upon arrival for the first of the two cleaning appointments. The same hygienist was at least a little nicer, but spent the entire cleaning down talking to my friend. She made her point and kept drilling it in, to the point again of bullying. The hygienist made the comment she would try to get this done in one cleaning or the next would be an out of pocket expense not covered by insurance, which they never brought up when they scheduled her for two. This young woman does not have the financial having the ability to just pay for extra appointments insurance wouldn't cover.
We asked about a referral to an orthodontist. Dr. Wieseler insisted to refer to an out of the area Orthodontist. I asked for a Hermiston referral, and he went on an attack of the local Orthodontist. My children have had their work done in Hermiston and the care was amazing, There is no reason to drive to Tri-Cities for orthodontic care. I told Dr. Wieseler I'm familiar with the local Orthodontist I was asking for a referral stating I know that appropriate financial arrangements could be made. Dr. Wieseler was VERY unprofessional and rude, he not only attacked the local Orthodontist professionally but personally as well. He was clearly arrogant about not wanting to do the referral and attacked me and my choices as well. He stormed out of the room without even addressing his patient or making sure she got good care.
At the end of the appointment, they demanded payment UP FRONT prior to even scheduling for the fillings that were necessary. They refused to make any payment arrangements. Clearly this office is about the $$$ more than the patient. The bedside manner of the Dr. and his staff truly leaves a lot to be desired. The receptionist was polite and professional.

Professional and positive experience. No lectures about flossing more and my crown was fixed. Some 49er memorabilia hanging on the walls of the new waiting room is my only suggestion.
