Modern Family Dental Care - Northlake

The staff was kind. I went in for a routine cleaning with zero symptoms or problems. However the Dr told me I had “potentially 3 cavities” and needed a “gingivitis cleaning”. I’ve always had great dental health, but figured they knew what was best. I’ve had nothing but problems since then with gum pain and bleeding. I got a second opinion and apparently that “gingivitis cleaning” didn’t actually provide much cleaning. I’m now on antibiotics and steroids because of what they did, and after paying over $200 I still owe them another $100. Also my second opinion said I had zero cavities. Thank goodness I didn’t pay the $800+ they wanted for the “potential cavities”. I wouldn’t recommend this location. Also - reducing to one star. I just received a bill and after confirming with them 2x on the phone, once before the initial visit, and once after the visit that I was IN NETWORK and my insurance participates with them, it appears they are OUT OF NETWORK. I see this has happened to other people. What a scam.

Excellent! Going to the dentist can often be scary and anxiety-ridden but the whole team at the Northlake location worked hard to make my entire visit for my dental implant a calm and comfortable experience while making sure to check in with me and explain each step of the procedure. Looking forward to going back soon

Great at getting you in for an appointment quickly, but extremely overpriced for their services and money hungry. If you cannot pay the full amount upfront, then they refuse to help. Allowed me to walkout without hesitation.

The Dentist and Hygienist were very professional and I had no issues with the quality of care at this location. Where I did have an issue was payment and insurance. During new patient paperwork I provided all insurance information and even pictures of the card. I was told throughout the whole process my insurance was accepted. At no point though did anyone let me know they were not in my network. To have further dental work would now require me to pay almost entirely out of pocket bc insurance only covers so much out of network. Again though, no one let me know it was because they were out of network. When I questioned the cost that it seems unreasonable to pay so much when I am insured, the payment specialist did not know who my insurance provider was. If I didn't notice something seemed off, it would have cost me hundreds, if not over a thousand dollars. I understand you can't have knowledge on every insurer but I don't feel much care or attention to detail was given. Even when I questioned it was still never mentioned that they weren't in my network and that's why. I now have to establish myself as a new patient at a new dentist due to something that should have been so easily avoidable.

Very long appointment, two hours for an evaluation. Recommended fix was the most expensive treatment you could have. Confusion amongst staff and general lack of communication.

The staff is excellent, very friendly and warm. The cleaning was quick, efficient and done exceptionally well. I recommend them to anyone looking for great dental care.

I was not an established patient but I am scheduled to have my remaining teeth removed by a different dental surgeon and get dentures. One tooth decided it couldn’t wait for another month and half, and started throbbing. I googled emergency dentist and was able to make an appointment the very next morning. Dr Rogers and his staff were very understanding and kind and caring and treated me as if I were a long time patient. He extracted the tooth and I was on my way. Cannot recommend enough. If I wasn’t already on the path to full dentures I would definitely have him as my dentist.
