Best experience I've ever had in a dental office in my entire life

Bateman Dental Review

I booked an appointment for a filling repair which had fallen out the day prior. I called ahead to book an appointment and indicated that my filling had fallen out and I needed it to be replaced. I went into their offices and was told that I needed a full crown instead, and that I needed an implant on a different tooth (completely unrelated to the reason I was there). I thought this was odd, and I felt uncomfortable, so I told them I would think it over. I was in their offices for about 15 minutes total. I then went to get a second opinion from another dentist who told me that I simply needed to replace the filling and did not need a crown, he thought it was odd Bateman suggested otherwise. I had the other dentist perform the work without issue.

A month later, I receive a bill from Bateman for $340. This was odd, since I never had any services performed by them, other than an exam on the ONE tooth that I requested to be fixed. Again, I was there for 15 minutes. After looking at the itemized bill, I noticed they had charged me for 8 x-rays, and a full dental exam, without my consent for additional x-rays or to perform my yearly exam. After questioning the front office about these charges, and asking them why I would need EIGHT X-rays to look at ONE tooth, and a full dental exam (which I do not believe they performed) I was told that they “took it upon themselves” to perform these x-rays and a full dental exam, because insurance “should cover the charges 100%”.

After insurance did not send them the payment, I was repeatedly hounded / harassed for payment and was threatened that my bill would be taken to collections. This went on for 6 months. They told me to call my insurance and ask for payment, and I told them I did not feel comfortable with that since I did not receive/ask/want those additional services. I ended up paying out of pocket $340 for a 15 minute appointment to look at my tooth. No treatment.

Make sure you are checking your detailed bills with this dental practice. They are unethical and not trustworthy. They try to up-charge and up-sell their services to try and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. I went ahead and reported them for insurance fraud and will continue to share my experience.

Dr Kim and Dr Bateman are amazing dentists and they do great work! Every provider I’ve seen in their office from the general dentists, orthodontist, periodontist, and hygienists have been thorough, gentle, and very good at educating me in the proper way to care for my smile!! I can’t say enough good things about this office and their amazing staff, I recommend them to all my friends and family!!

Bateman Dental has treated me with so much friendliness and care! As soon as I walked into the office I got such a warm welcome from Kay who was manning the front desk, it made me feel comfortable already! I went in for a 6-month check-up, and the X-rays that the assistant Hannah took helped them find a little black spot on my back tooth. My diagnosis and treatment were all discussed in great detail, in a way that was patient-friendly and easy to understand. I was shown the area on my tooth as well as x-rays of that specific area. I also felt comfortable discussing some residual pain that I have been experiencing since my wisdom tooth removal. I was able to have a good conversation about treatment with Dr. Bateman, and he helped me understand all my options for treatment. I decided to get the little discolored area filled and the hygienist Kilee helped me find a time the very next day to get treated! As someone who has pretty bad dental anxiety, and a big fear of needles I am always nervous heading into filling appointments, but Dr. Kim was so kind and even joked around with me throughout the whole appointment, and the assistant Amy was so sweet and helped me feel so comfortable. I felt no pain, and I am very satisfied with the quality of the filling placed!
I have already set up appointments for many of my family members, and I will be recommending this office to all of my friends and family. Finding an office staff and Doctors that you can trust is harder than you think! But there is not a doubt in my mind that the priority of both Doctors here as well as all the assistants, hygienists, and insurance specialists is the health and happiness of every pt that they treat. I will be coming back to this office for all of my cleanings and appointments as long as Dr. Kim and Dr. Bateman are practicing here!

Dr Kim was great. I went in with a broken tooth at the upper right in the back.. He was thorough in explaining my options and the related procedures. I chose to have the tooth extracted. I was worried because a previous extraction had been tedious and uncomfortable. To my surprise I never felt any pain or discomfort, and he finished in a very short time. I'll choose him for all my future dental work.

My family has gone to Dr. Bateman for over 4 years now and he is honestly the best dentist we’ve ever had. The facility is very clean and comfortable, the staff is incredibly professional and knowledgeable. My biggest reason I send friends and family to Bateman Dentistry is because of how well their communication is. It may seem a small detail but It is so refreshing to be walked through every detail of your visit/procedure and to have it explained in understandable terms. Can’t say enough good about our experiences here.

Who would go to a dentist that had less than 5 stars? Andrew and his staff are amazing! They are personable, friendly, knowledgeable, and immediately put you at ease. Thank you for making my experience so pleasant!

update 2/23. Since getting a root canal approx 2 1/2 yrs ago from Dr. Bateman I have had infection, pain and swelling. I dont know how many xrays and anti-biotics I went thru. Alot. We could see something way up in my gums/root/jaw on the x-rays but he said he had no idea what it was. An Endodontist confirmed that the end of Dr. Bateman's tool broke off up inside one of the roots he cleaned out. It could not be reached. I am now going to lose the tooth. Even surgery to remove the piece of file will most likely not save tooth. I do understand that this sometimes happens, but I have lost all trust. I
really like Dr. Bateman and his staff personally. It is a beautiful office, wonderful ammenities. Wll not be returning.

The front desk know you by name and they do everything to make you comfortable. The dentists here are top notch. I recommend this office to my family.

Dr. Andrew Bateman is an outstanding dentist, and his staff is wonderful too! They are very caring and personable, and yet do outstanding dental work in a very gentle way. Since we don’t have dental insurance, they always seem to find ways to keep our costs down, which we appreciate very much! They make recommendations to help us improve our oral care, and are very positive and supportive as we make progress together with our teeth and gums. I would highly recommend them without any reservations! They’re awesome!
