Tuscaloosa General Dentistry

I've never had a fun trip to a dentist. But, TGD is fast efficient and I have confidence in their know how. My brother is a dentist in another State. He recommended Dr. Carlson to me when I was having a severe maxillofacial problem. I was very happy with Dr. Carlson's treatment and he has been my regular dentist since.

I am always so happy to visit staff at Carlson-Meriwether dentist. It was a long drive from Greensboro in the heat, but Im so happy to know my teeth are still in great shape.

January 2018, excellent care, great explanation of subtle features of an x-ray showing cause of pain. Provided me with a prescription just in case the pain gets more severe before I can have treatment. I am moving to another state, so regretfully will need to find another dentist. Sure hate that part of my move.

June 2017 follow up: Excellent care in every way. Hollie is great cleaning the teeth. Needed a filling, and Dr. Carlson was able to work it in the same day, saving me a drive from out of town.

December 2016 Follow up: Dental care is an enjoyable experience with these folks. Excellent care and friendly people = wonderful experience.

Five stars are not enough! I became a new patient because of a fractured crown, because of the many favorable reviews for Dr. Carlson, and because they were able to work me in the same day. So many things about the experience were exceptional beyond expectations. An important maker of quality in professional services, in which Dr. Carlson excels, is in communications with patients. He took the time to sketch out the reason my dental crown fractured as it did, giving me confidence about his insight into the process. He also mentioned that a replacement crown could be made with stronger material and furthermore thicker at the site of the fracture. He also continued to explain what was going on inside my mouth as the temporary mold was made, old crown removed, temporary one fitted, etc. This showed courtesy and consideration of the patient experience.

Modern dental procedures are expected to be painless, which was certainly true in this case. I’ll reluctantly bring up the topic of a novocain injection, just to mention that I did not realize that was happening. (Dr. Carlson did not mention this was coming, probably a wise omission!) In the interest of not giving a “spoiler alert” I will not describe the cute diversion that took away my attention and prevented any anticipatory reaction. Yet another indication of consideration for patients executed superbly.

The office staff is friendly and efficient. The chair even delivers a gentle back massage, helping to mentally relax.

Although my appointment was at the end of the day, Dr. Carlson and Haleigh worked late well after the regular closing time and did not rush the procedure at all. When I left the whole parking lot serving the nearby professional offices was almost completely empty.

I am not affiliated or related in any way with Dr. Carlson or anyone in his office, and met everyone there for the first time on my first visit there. I am grateful to the others who have posted favorable reviews that helped me find such exceptionally excellent service!

Very friendly staff, this office works tirelessly to insure all CDC standards are followed for the safety of it's patients. Providing statements of patient responsibility give you a chance to evaluate upcoming expenses is also a plus!

The staff at Tuscaloosa General Denistry is so awesome!! From the front desk to the hygienists, they're very caring, genuine, and extemely nice! This was our first experience with the office and we are not at all disappointed! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

The folks here are great! They obviously care about their patients! They explain everything and are very gentle and kind. My family will never go anywhere else!
