Absolutely amazing people here! I read through hours of reviews on dentists after moving to a new state and I am so glad that I did. They are so above and beyond and take the time to explain everything to the kids and make them feel so comfortable. My youngest went in, so shy and apprehensive because of past dental experiences and she left excited about her next cleaning and even getting a filling. Dr Carlson is so great! So were Stephanie and Emily. The ladies at the front were all so so sweet, as well. I was truly blown away with how great everything was. It was so clean and the dentist was clearly looking to help each individual, not see how much money he could make off of you. So happy with them. My family wont go anywhere else.

Every member of the staff in this office went above and beyond for me. I called in on an emergency appointment, to find out the next available appointment was in 4 days. I broke down. After hearing the desperation in my voice, they broke protocol to serve me. The office staff genuinely seemed to care about my situation and extended their own time, at the end of the work week, to make sure I was taken care of. Their legitimate concern for my well being, along with their compassion for their patients radiated. I have nothing negative to say about their patient- and quality-centric practice. Dr. Carlson comes from a very skilled and compassionate family and he lives up to the big shoes he has to fill. I HIGHLY recommend Tuscaloosa General Dentistry. Thank you again for the personal, amazingly fast, quality, and compassionate care.

I really wish all business would have the excellent customer service and pride like this place. They are polite and good atmosphere. The doctor actually take time to talk to you with the problems you are having and willing to answer any questions you have. I had some work done and later that day I was surprise with a courtesy check up to see if everything was okay. Little things like that says a lot about the business to me. At this point I feel NO place you would go for dental care will ever amount to this place. Thanks Guys

Updated 2/28/2022. I could post the same review over and over. they are just the best. Get you in on time, take care of business, get you on your way. they don't waste my time. But they take great care of me. As long as I live in Tuscaloosa, I'll keep coming back. I've been a fan as long as I've been a patient. This is a dentist that you don't mind visiting. Holly, my hygienist, is awesome - as are all the hygienists. The front desk ladies are kind and attentive. Dr. Carlson is a wonderful dentist. They take great care to ensure their patients are comfortable, and during all this COVID nonsense, they are going out of their way to protect their patients and themselves. I'm a fan. — Update- 11/16/2021. I had a minor problem with my upper molar, left side, but I didn’t want to neglect it with the holidays only days away. Didn’t want to wait and have it develop into something. I called Dr. Carlson’s office and they said they could see me at 4:30 - same day. Then, got a text at 10:22 AM saying that if I could come now they could see me. I headed straight over, and had almost no wait, and they took care of me. I tell you, Dr. Carlson and his team make up the best dentistry practice I’ve ever dealt with. It’s actually a JOY to visit the dentist. Run, don’t walk, to Tuscaloosa General Dentistry and let them take care of you. You won’t regret it.

Excellent! From the receptionists who greet you upon entering, to the hygiensts, to Dr. Carlson...they are all amazing. Friendly, caring, and professional, all great at what they do. I always feel welcome and know that my appointment is going to be great, even if I'm having a not so pleasant procedure done. They make sure I am good. I started out with Dr. Meriwether and as he was preparing to retire, he smoothly transitioned me to Dr. Carlson. I continue to be pleased with the serivce I receive.

I have seen both Dr. Merriweather and Dr. Carlson and had great experiences with both. They are very professional. I have had my teeth cleaned twice by the hygienist, Emily McKnight, and had a great experience both times. She was friendly, put me at ease, and provided a pain free cleaning. The wait time was minimal and the staff was friendly.

If anyone is looking for a comfortable dental experience, look no further than Dr. John Carlson, and his friendly staff! I actually LOVE to have my teeth cleaned now! My hygienist is so gentle, yet thorough. Dr. Carlson has always been so nice and has a very calming demeanor. I also felt very comfortable knowing they are doing their part to help fight the spread of Covid. The office was immaculately clean, as it always is. I no longer dread going to the dentist!
