I highly recommend Dr. Kirk Johnson and Excellence in Dentistry. I went to see Dr. Johnson at Excellence in Dentistry for what I thought was TMJ. His staff was able to find me an appointment time as quickly as possible since I was in quite a bit of discomfort. At the beginning of my visit. Dr. Johnson sat down with me and we discussed my symptoms. We proceeded with a problem focused exam that looked at all of the elements that could lead to my discomfort. The amazing technology and skill of the evaluation led to the discovery of an abscessed tooth as the most likely cause of my pain. A root canal was performed and all of my discomfort was gone. I enjoyed the professionalism and whole picture approach that allowed for the correct diagnosis of my problem.

Had an appointment today for a tooth extracted and a bridge. I was VERY comfortable, even fell asleep and was snoring!
EVERYONE in they’re office is extremely professional and very friendly- felt very relaxed.i appreciate how they walked me through the procedure and how they explained everything.
You can’t beat them, no matter where you go.
I give them a 15!! ( not a ten, but a 15 rating!)

I was having intense jaw pain, waking up with headaches, and discomfort for the last 2 years. I was informed these are signs/ symptoms of TMJ. Dr. Kendall got me on tensing bite therapy to relax the muscles in my jaw, they built me an and orthotic that corrects my bite this has now taken away discomfort, headaches and all pain! Dr. Kendall and his staff were so friendly and welcoming right from the get go! If I could give them 6 stars I would.

I didn't realize how unfulfulling my previous dental experiences had been until I moved to Anchorage and started seeing Dr. Johnson at Excellence in Dentistry. Dr. Johnson and his staff are warm, friendly, and efficient. I always feel very comfortable and at ease while there. (The headphones with personalized radio stations are an especially nice touch during longer procedures!) I am confident in the quality of their work and no longer dread my trips to the dentist. Dr. Skinner and his team are amazing, they deserve 10 starts!! I was seen for an emergent jaw issue, my dentist at Alpine Family Dentist contacted his office and was seen right away, Dr. Skinner was able to get my jaw back in place with little pain. His assistants were very kind and patient and Dr. Skinner explained everything to me. Highly recommend Dr. Skinner and his office for any jaw or TMJ issues and Dr. Brett at Alpine Family Dentistry

First appointment to see Dr. Johnson was over 20 years ago after I became dissatisfied with the treatment options my dentist was giving me. Dr. Johnson took the time to explain the different treatments options available and laid out a plan to accomplish each. Over the years I have seen his staff continue their education to provide the best in care using the latest in technology. I’ll never go anywhere else.

Dr. Johnson has been my dentist for at least 20 years. When he first opened his practice, I was there. He cares about me and my smile. Unfortunately, I does not make a lot of money on my teeth because he takes such good care of them.
Victoria (Vicky) has been cleaning my teeth for many years. I hope she never retires. She is the very best in her business and I trust her entirely. I count myself lucky to be in the care of this dental clinic.
Vicky is the absolute best. I know she will retire soon.
I will be very sorry to see her go. Good for her but very sad for me
