I didn't expect to need dental work during my vacation here, but things happen... I am extremely grateful to Dr. Walbom and his staff not only for high quality work and technology that I couldn't have afforded in my own country (laser...), but also for everything they did to accomodate the specifics of my situation. They are indeed "caring"!

I called and tried to schedule an appointment. Everything seemed to be going smoothly (they had taken my personal info and appointment date preferences for the following week) until I mentioned that I had bought a living social deal they are having. Then all of a sudden it was "Oh well I am not REALLY the one supposed to be booking appointments . . . and we're booked for a month in advance . . . um she'll call you back within an hour, probably sooner". Several hours later no call. I called back and was told now that it would be three months until I could have an appointment.
I know a lot of businesses get jaded after doing groupon and living social because so many client's don't come back. I would not have been one of those and normally I sort of hate to use living social and groupon . . . I just was short on cash and new to town. So since I found the deal I figured they'd be my new dental care givers.
Now I'm forty bucks shorter on cash unless living social gives me a refund

Really nice people and quality care. I went in initially after a few years without regular dental care. They fixed some lingering problems and my teeth have not had a problem in the subsequent 4 years.

I became apprehensive (OK, call it scared) about dental procedures more extensive than filling cavities due to a bad experience about a decade ago. I shared my misgivings with Dr. Walbom as he proposed "re-do" of a long-chipped crown, and consented unwillingly to the procedure. His patience and empathy during the procedure made it bearable; we proceeded at MY pace. MUCH better to have it in past tenses, now! Thank you.

I was at A Caring Place Dentistry Nov. 6, 2017 and I want to say I was very happy to have found them. The place was so inviting, it was clean, and everyone was so friendly and professional. I finally found a dentist I don't mind going to!

I bought two groupons, both as gifts. I had one hell of a time making an appointment because the doctors are conveniently out of town a week prior to the expiration date of the Groupon, and they're also "completely booked" anytime before the expiration. It took them a couple days to reply to my appointment request as well.
Let me start by saying that the only person who was nice in the entire office was the hygienist. She's fully competent and knowledgeable. When asked about pricing, everyone else was obnoxiously rude. Then you mention the groupon and all these fees are suddenly added.
I was told about the fee if there was periodontal disease. Just as fine printed in the groupon. That's fine. HOWEVER, there was no "consultation for non-qualifying participants" to determine whether or not the patient even qualified for the groupon -- AS stated in the fine print! If she didn't qualify, then the groupon should have been refunded, AS STATED. Or better yet, I could have used it for myself! I couldn't care less for a refund, because I could have used it, knowingly I don't have gum disease. They took my mother back to the room, did X-rays, told her she has gum disease and is expected to pay the additional $85 for the examination and service. If she refused, they would simply use the groupon voucher as her X-ray fee and she wouldn't receive any further services.
I bought two. I can't request a cancellation of the second appointment because it says they require 48hrs notice in advance. And I bought them both as a gift for other people.
So, after agreeing to pay the extra (since we basically were forced to), the doctor's wife comes charging in and yells at my mother, telling her everything was already explained prior and she has no excuse to not pay them. Let me repeat myself, she didn't pay for the groupon, I did. SHE doesn't HAVE to pay for anything. And yet after she calmly told them she would pay, she's yelled at by one of the owners?!
Finally, at checkout, we were told they'd charge an additional $5 to use a credit OR debit card. FIVE dollars?! Not 0.35cents, not 1-2% of your transaction... But ridiculous five whole dollars to use a DEBIT card? You guys are seriously full of crap. No, Miss Receptionist, you did NOT mention this to me over the phone. And I do believe it is quite illegal to force someone you knew had cash (you SAW her open her wallet), pay with cash rather than their card. There were no signs, nothing on receipts, any indications of a "credit card fee" let alone a debit card fee. Which is ILLEGAL. Google it.
Needless to say, we won't be back and this review will be posted to Yelp and other outlets so that people are forewarned about these sorry bunches of thieves.

As always, I had a great dental cleaning this morning at Dr. Walbom's office. They really do care, with their professionalism, prevention, and treatments. And, I have a shining-white smile to prove it!
