Growing Smiles Dentistry: A Pediatric Dentist with Mixed Reviews
Located at 2787 Harris St, Eureka, CA 95503, Growing Smiles Dentistry is a pediatric dentist that has been serving the local community for several years. The clinic offers dental services to children of all ages and has a team of experienced dental hygienists and a caring dentist, Dr. Heckert.
However, despite the clinic's experience and expertise, Growing Smiles Dentistry has received mixed reviews from customers. While some customers have praised the clinic for its professionalism, friendly staff, and excellent care, others have reported negative experiences.
Some customers have complained about the clinic's ethics, claiming that they were pushed to approve unnecessary procedures at the last minute. One customer even compared the experience to dealing with a car salesman. Another customer reported that the clinic had sent them to collections over a small outstanding balance and refused to see their child again, leaving them without a pediatric dentist in a small town with a shortage of dental care.
Other customers have reported negative experiences with the clinic's staff, particularly the head receptionist, Amy, who was described as one of the rudest people they had ever dealt with in a professional setting. One customer also reported an incident where an anesthesiologist raised their voice at the patient's parents.
Despite the mixed reviews, some customers have praised Growing Smiles Dentistry for its excellent care and professionalism. One customer reported that the clinic was nothing but amazing, with a caring dentist and happy hygienists who were organized and clean. Another customer praised the clinic for accommodating them in an emergency and having a super professional staff of wonderful women.
In conclusion, Growing Smiles Dentistry is a pediatric dentist with mixed reviews. While some customers have reported excellent care and professionalism, others have reported negative experiences with the clinic's ethics and staff. It is up to each individual to weigh the pros and cons and decide whether to visit Growing Smiles Dentistry for their child's dental needs.

As others have mentioned. They are a great dentist, but their ethics are not so great. Our children were patients there for several years and we would pay our balance at the end of each appointment. After a visit we were mistakenly told there was no balance due. Lo and behold we take our children in a month later and are told we have an outstanding balance we need to pay before our children can be seen. I asked the receptionist if we could pay now and be seen that day for our scheduled appointment. Nope, it has been sent to collections. The receptionist told us we could reschedule the appointment for the next week after we had payed our bill. So I go home and pay our balance due. The following week I go in for our scheduled appointment and am told my children are no longer patients because we had been sent to collections. They wasted my time by rescheduling an appointment that was never going to happen, which for a place claiming to be professional was a very childish and immature way to handle the situation. Their ethics are horrible. Being one of the only pediatric dentists in our area that accepted our insurance we were left without a dentist for our children. Knowing this is how they operate makes me glad we donβt see them anymore.

My son had one of the worst experiences at this office. The kind that scar a kid. My experience as a parent wasn't much better. I felt like they were pushing me to approve unnecessary procedures at the last minute, like a car salesman.. it felt slimy. The head receptionist Amy is one of the rudest people I have ever delt with in a professional setting. Zero Stars.

I recently called this office to make an appointment for my son, a patient there already. We had an appointment scheduled early March and we never received a confirmation call, I wrongfully assumed I had the date wrong.
I called yesterday to find they have take my FOUR YEAR OLD SON off their patient list and REFUSE TO SEE HIM AGAIN.
Why you ask??? A TWELVE DOLLAR outstanding payment, that I was not aware of. They said they had called. They left a voicemail from a random number on a Saturday. I called back and no one answered. They said they had mailed us something but to the wrong address, which I admit, I did not update. But did they ask? And why not call me to confirm my son's appointment and say, " however, we will not see him unless you pay your outstanding balance of $12". Instead they took us off their patient list without even letting us know. I offered to pay as this was just a miscommunication and the woman told me " no, your son can no longer be seen here"
My son is four, he had become comfortable with that office. Now we have to find a new one, in a small town where there is a health and dental care shortage.
GROWING SMILES IS NOT ABOUT THE CHILDREN. THEY ARE AWARE THAT THEY HAVE THE UPPER HAND IN REGARD TO DEMAND BUT GIVE TWO SH!TS ABOUT HOW THEY AFFECT THE CHILDREN BUY RIGIDLY CUTTING THEM OFF FOR A MEASLY $12.
To the DENTAL STAFF's ( not office) defense they have always been kind.

I have been taking my children to Growing Smiles Dentistry since 2007. Normally, kids don't like going to the dentist, but this place makes kids always looking forward for their next appointment. The reception gals are always nice and friendly, the Dental Hygienists in the back are just wonderful and very good with the kids. Dr. Heckert is amazing and very caring.

I was adamant about finding a pediatric dentist, especially after the experience I had with Redwood Rural (I will never go there again). I found Growing Smiles on the internet, I had an emergency with my 5 yo. They accommodated us so well we were able to see Dr Heckertt within 1 hour. Super professional staff of wonderful women, and Dr Heckertt was amazing. Looking forward to a long relationship!

I've been taking my kids here for quite some time now, before Dr. Heckert took over. My children have always received excellent care. I have found the over-all experience to be warmer and friendlier under Dr. Heckert; though that is not to say it was lacking before. About the only negative is he's a Warriors fan, but hey, nobody is perfect!

Get a anesthesiologist with bed side manner. Someone who isnβt going to raise their voice at the patients parents because of their concern. Tell them that their daughters heart rate jumping up is irrelevant while she still hadnβt woke up from anesthesia . & for the Dentist to not say a WORD! Not even to apologize for the way his worker has acted is beyond me. Also not to mention my childβs cap fell off 2 days later while eating CEREAL. I call and theyβre on vacation. Not a word was mentioned to us, they didnβt send us home with any paperwork explaining care either. Just sent us on our way. I could dig further into our nightmare experience but I think you get the point.
