I have been coming here since my husband and I moved to Oceanside almost 4 years ago. Initially I was pleased with the care. Since COVID I have noticed many staff changes but was okay since I still felt like the standard of care was up to par.... until my appointment on July 7th. The Mexican front desk receptionist was rude. She wasn't wearing a mask and didn't greet me when I came in - just asked my name and told me to fill out the paper work. A few minutes later a white woman walks in and her whole demeanor changed. I waited almost 25 minutes with no apologies for the wait or update on why it was taking so long for me to be seen. I just walked out and called another dentist. But when Dr. Shahrokh heard about my experience he called me personally to apologize and explain that things would be different moving forward. After speaking with him I scheduled another appointment for today and I'm looking forward to the great service that I've been accustomed to from him and his team in the past.

Best Dentist ever! Dr. Shahrokh is extremely fast yet precise in his work. I have dental anxiety and won’t go anywhere else. Dr. Shahrokh and his staff are a great team! There is plenty of parking, great location and the office is exceptionally clean.

I was sad when my regular dentist retired and I was on the search for a new one. I was so happy and relieved when I found San Marcos Dental Studio! The staff is friendly, Dr. Shahrokh is patient, friendly and precise in his work. They worked with me when I didn’t have insurance and always are flexible with their schedule.

Chose this practice when I went to another
provider in the building and they closed shop
due to Covid. It was in the same building so
gave them a try. First visit went ok but the
charge you for fluoride treatments you did
not request. It was $11 so let it go. Fluoride
treatment there is now $35. Second visit for
cleaning was charged $60+ copay. I was set
back as I have never paid for a cleaning ever. I
thought that maybe that I had not met the 6
month rule for cleanings so I let it go. Third
visit another $60+ for a cleaning so I spoke
up.
The office manager stated that insurance
changes every year in January and was visibly
peeved. I go to my car and call insurance
company. They looked it up and nothing
changed year over year It is not so much about
the stolen money but about the lie that I just
received a periodontal cleaning. No way.
Spoke to the office manager about
what the insurance stated and she was very
peeved and stated "yes, your treatment plan
was for this advanced cleaning".
First, I don't have a "treatment" plan and most disturbing is that this "advanced cleaning" was no
different than dozens of cleanings I have
had in the past and THAT IS WHEN I realized
that this is dental scam shop as it DEFINITELY
was not a periodontal cleaning. I was being
lied to and robbed. It is not so much about the money as it is about the lies, confusion, disorganization, dishonesty and a persnickety office manager who will just talk over you and dismiss you.
The office manager stated that the doctor would
call me and she cannot help. Well, no call
from the doctor at 9pm. Pathetic. The
receptionist is very sweet and kind, the
hygienist does not say a word to you while
working, the doctor won't talk to you and the
office manager cannot or is not allowed to
provide customer service. No autonomy. I
called about a dozen other providers and two
of them told me they have heard this before
about SMDS from new clients. I am not sure
that some of the reviews here are real?
If you really must use this provider ask lots of
questions and pick apart their "treatment
plan" and listen very closely to the semantics
and the insurance company told me to ask for
billing codes before any work to avoid such
grifting. There is a dentist on almost every
corner.
The doctor not calling me as he stated says it
all. Buyer Beware.

I had another good experience at Dr Sahrokh's office. The hygienist, Lollay, is capable, friendly and explains questions I have clearly. I think Dr. Shahrokh takes my circumstance seriously and is considerate

I have been to several dentist looking for a good one. The pain level is low...in my opinion.. & I do not do well with pain. I had a root canal this morning and I am feeling fine. The entire office was friendly, comforting and accommodating. I highly recommend this dental office.

I couldn’t be happier to have found this studio, always going beyond and above to take care of their patients! I appreciate the attention to detail, punctuality and care they put towards their work.
When I look for a dentist or any specialist of any kind, I don’t look for perfection because there always going to be mistakes on their end, my end, or unknown variables in general. Instead, i look for how they going to react in bad situations or how they react to any mistakes. Out of all the great work they have done, i had some annoying issues with a tooth’s filling that keep coming off, this tooth in particular is very hard to work with. Although it sucks to deal with it, they made sure to accommodate me right back in and handled the situation with care and diligence, which I could not being happier knowing I was getting taken care of.

This is the best dentist I have ever gone to in my entire life. They are super informative and explain everything in easy and understandable terms. They are willing to work with you when it comes to paying for your treatment. The entire team is extremely friendly and welcoming. My brother, mom, and I all go to this dentist and we've only just started but it been the best experience we've had out entire lives. I would highly recommend.
