Santa Barbara Family Dentistry

My father had went to look at his tooth aches, but after hearing what my father explained how much this place was charging my father was ridiculous. Dr. Gonzales wanted to charged my father nearly 5k for some cavities, but then we went somewhere else and completely different dentist (Not at family dentistry) found nothing, not even one cavity. I ask to be very careful with this place!

Let me tell you my story about this dentist experience. A few months back I went for my regular cleaning and the doctor had said I needed to get a crown done, three fillings, and all four wisdom teethe done. I was okay with that so me and my dad go in to have a consultation to discuss the pricing we were going to pay and let me tell you this we spent more time waiting then actually talking to Dr. Gonzalez. He told me and my dad all we had to paid was to payments of $558 each one payment for the first visit when they did my crown and three fillings and the next payment after the four wisdom teeth were done. I told him I was diabetic and he didn't talk to me about the procedure or nothing, what medicine I was going to take or nothing he just said two payments and we shook hands and agreed. So a few weeks after this I got my crown done and three fillings and let me tell you this my crown was still hurting after a month of getting it done that's how bad they did of a job. So then a month later I go to get my wisdom teeth and me myself being a diabetic I wanted to do it safely as possible and wanted to do it with a surgeon but he didn't talk to me about that or nothing. I go on the day of the procedure they numb me and everything and the doctor looks at my teeth and it wasn't even doctor Gonzalez it was someone else and he said, " I don't know why they referred you to me I can't do your extractions because each surgeon needs to do them." I missed a day of school and my dad a day of work so they refer us to a surgeon and we didn't have to make the second payment because they didn't do the work. A few days ago they tried to Bill my dad $400 dollars saying we owe even though we made an agreement of two payments and that's it. So on Tuesday I went to his office with my mom and told Dr. Gonzalez you said two payments and that's it, you shouldn't charge us because that is your fault I couldn't do them here, it showed in the x-rays. You want to know what he does, he walks up and leaves because he said he didn't want to get mad about the situation even though I wasn't telling him all the facts and calling him a liar. I start telling the worker who does all the papers and billing and told her we don't have to pay nothing because we agreed to two payments and nothing else that's his fault he didn't do a good job and I told her that I was diabetic and didn't even handle the situation with caution or nothing. She and the nerve to tell me with a straight face your using your diabetes as an excuse not to pay the bill. That right there shows the disrespect the workers and doctors there have on their patients. She had no right to say that and she still said it and to anyone reading this pick another dentist that will help you and not screw you over for money you shouldn't have to pay for not even getting your property work done. Dr. Gonzalez is a scandalous doctor and liar who doesn't do his job right and gets mad when you tell him the truth. I would rate this play a no star because their not worth anyone's time, their the worst place to go and knowing them they probably will take this post down for telling the truth about my situation.

Fantastic! Excellent! On a recent drive down to Santa Maria from the Bay Area, I chipped the top off a crown. Wow...let me tell you, it wreaked havoc with my tongue all through the Xmas holidays! I could hardly eat. They took me in today, filed the tooth and did not even charge me.I was shocked! What a great Xmas present. Do not hesitate...go to the Santa Barbara Family Dentistry.

I was going to be a new patient here. Unfortunately, they were having a bad day. My appt. was scheduled for 8am. They were late opening and while I sat and waited watched 3 customers come in after me and be taken back. Finally, after 30 minutes of no acknowledgement I decided to leave and find an office that has staff that carries themselves in a more professional manner and respects the value of the patients time as well.

I have been coming to Santa Barbara Family Dentistry for a few years. After several bad dentist experiences, I was not a fan of seeing a dentist. My experience at this office has changed those feelings. I come in for routine cleanings and leave with no pain. All employees are friendly, professional and gentle!!

Very good service, honest doctors and reasonable prices. I liked that they where able to speak in Spanish, made the whole experience easier and more comfortable. I will keep going with them.

This dentist is great. Staff is professional and the dentist's are gentle and informative. The staff are all smiles and it looks like they all enjoy their place of work. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to bring the whole family.

I came to Santa Maria Family Dentistry from San Diego and was impressed by the staff, state of the art technology, and their willingness to work around my schedule. I have had terrible dental experiences in the past but everything so far has been painless. (and I even got a tooth pulled!) Highly recommend .....

They did an OUTSTANDING job! I am picky and they exceeded my expectations! I’ve been to many practices in my life but this one was one of the best - friendly staff members, clean, accommodating, respectful and overall great results.

I come here for my ortho and all the staff are very friendly and professional. They have taken care of me and really accommodate to your needs!
