Today was my first time there. The staff was great and I appreciated that they made time for me due to a dental emergency. The office was nice and clean and everyone was friendly. The doctor was very thorough with her explanation of the procedure she was going to perform. I think its awesome that they give you options and provide pricing up front. I will continue to come here for dental treatment.

PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE !!! You will be dramatically overcharged. If you decide to get treated here make sure you verify everything with your insurance FIRST so you don’t have to deal with the hassle of getting refunded. The employees here are so disrespectful. A couple of months ago, I put my experience with Desert Valley Dental office on Google and Yelp with 5 star reviews. That does not mean that I always give it 5 stars. My reviews are based on case by case.

In past August, I made an appointment for preventive teeth cleaning (prophylaxis cleaning) with Melanie, the office manager. In order not have any confusion, I sent her emails to confirm my appointment is only for prophylaxis cleaning. On Sep. 20, I sent her another email to clarify my appointment again; it is ONLY FOR PREVENTIVE TEETH CLEANING and should have NO COPAY for this procedure with my dental insurance. On Sep. 24, she replied me “You have no copay” via email.

On Sep. 30, I went to this office for teeth cleaning. A lady at front desk asked me for $5.00 COPAY. I told her my insurance for preventive teeth cleaning does not require copay. She then waived it and asked me to sign electronically without showing me or telling me what I was signing for.

Then a male hygienist (Juan Hidalgo) took me to a room for teeth cleaning. In the room, he pretended to check out my teeth by hitting my teeth with dental tools, then showed me my X-ray taken from my first visit in April. He then told me I had some calculus under my gum. I asked him if he can see a cavity inside my teeth of X-ray. He said he was JUST A HYGIENIST and DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO READ X-RAY. Then he told me that I need to have a deep cleaning, which could cost me $816.00 (insurance does not pay), according to its estimate during my first visit.

I told him that from my first visit, I told Dr. Lee and Melanie that I would not do any deep teeth cleaning no matter how much it cost me. And this appointment is only for preventive cleaning. He said: " if you do not take deep cleaning, I will not do preventive teeth cleaning for you. This is our POLICY.”

I argued that I made this appointment with Melanie for prophylaxis cleaning. Now you want me to have deep cleaning. He said he could get the owner dentist to explain to me. I told him that it was not necessary for me to argue with anyone. If it is your policy, I just go home. Then he got Dr. Lee there. I told Dr. Lee that during my first visit (he was the one to exam my teeth), I already turned down deep cleaning. Dr. Lee just repeated his POLICY that NO DEEP CLEANING, NO PROPHYLAXIS CLEANING.

HERE IS MY POINT FOR THIS REVIEW: if that is its policy, it is fine to me. Why did the office manager take my appointment? Or when I came in, I should have been told “NO DEEP CLEANING, NO PROPHYLAXIS CLEANING”. If she told me that, I would not have come. This already cost me several HUNDRED DOLLARS for a day off from work for this appointment.

Do you think that is just a misunderstanding? No, I do not think so. As an office manager, she knows all of its policy well. There are no misunderstandings. There is only HONESTY or DISHONESTY.

Two months ago I told Melanie, that I would put my 5 star reviews to google and yelp. I did it. On Sep. 30, before I left, I told Dr. Lee: “I would put my reviews on google and yelp again”. But this time it should be negative 5 star reviews. Unfortunately, there are no negative 5 stars. I have to give them ONE STAR for my REVIEWS.

I have been coming here for a little over a year and I enjoy the atmosphere and the staff. Jennifer, Dr. Ford, the hygienist I think her name is Kelly do awesome work. They are so inviting. My first appointment there was so amazing I couldn't help but return for service. I pray they keep up the great work. On 3/22/18 the RDA that helped me was kind and patient I don't remember her name but she will remember. Check them out you won't be disappointed. If you do they will make it right!!!! The best in the city.

Very happy with the service I received at this location. The staff is very nice, knowledgeable and patient. They made me feel like family, the office is very clean and looks like they have the latest technology to treat me and my family! Maria is my favorite dental assistant there, she was very attentive to my needs.

I love Chanell she’s a great help she makes our visit easy she definitely had it all together!🥰
