Summit Family Dentistry

Had a good experience with the dentist. However not up front about there costs. I called to ask if they took my insurance and I was told they did. After talking to billing when I received my bill I found out they are out of network. They have a treatment plan printout I received and I was suppose to come out paying a total of $542.00 I have a $500.00 deductible which was paid to them and $410.00 is coming out of my pocket. So now I don't even have enough to clean my teeth again this year because I am maxed out. During my first visit I was asked what was important and one thing I said is keeping it cost effective. They are definitely over priced. I have never paid this much out of pocket after 2 yearly visits. I am upset because there were many fees I was not told about and would have reconsidered using them if I had been given the right info about them being out of network.

Reading over reviews about pricing which there are quite a few complaints. For them to tell me that they are sorry and will work with staff to make sure it doesn't happen again. Gee thanks. That doesn't really help my situation. To pay 900+ for a filling and teeth cleaning is obsurd. Watch out when you are a new client and first make an appt they charge you a $98 consultation fee on top of $98 for the teeth cleaning and many more fees! They are sales people when it comes to taking your $. Then again if I would have been given correct information on if they took my insurance I wouldn't be in this position. But they won't work with you on giving you $ back for their mistake. They only take it!I

UPDATE:. Never received a call from you billing Dept as you stated. The only confusion here is on your end and your staff not being properly trained on billing and giving out right info. Your happy to respond to positive feedback but ignore the negative and trying to fix the problem
Why would you want to give any money back. Your just good at selling and taking it!

Best dental staff, facility, technology & services around! I'm not one to say I enjoy the dentist chair (who does?) but I will say I don't dread my appointments (or dodge them altogether...except, yes, I'm procrastinating on the wisdom teeth, which they can do right next door). Anyway, if you DO have teeth (or you need some made in the machine) and you DON'T don't want anxiety, judgement or cold, impersonal care, then you should visit Summit!

Note: awesome office for kids, too. Braces, ortho, whatever! Bonus: great referral & VIP program.

My cleaning was very thorough and Dr. Harvey answered all my questions.

We love this dental practice!! Everyone from the front office staff to the hygienist and the dentist are welcoming, caring and professional. They make the tough dental visits comfortable and easy. Highly recommended!!

Wow ! This office and staff are amazing !! I have been having a hard time finding a dentist I can trust and feel like I’m an actual person not just another number or cleaning to and I think I finally found my new dental home !! I went to this office, and they confused my insurance with another plan. They quoted me for services while I was in the chair but were giving me incorrect rates (as they had mixed up the insurance plans). I am now stuck with a $900.00 bill for services that were quoted at a fraction of that.

The staff did an incredible job at making this right, and I am looking forward to my upcoming appointment on Monday. This is the best customer service I have ever experienced.

The staff is friendly, but my results have been less than satisfactory. I’m mostly mad at myself for letting them convince me that a crown I had for years needed to be replaced. The previous crown and tooth never bothered me, but I’ve been in constant pain since they replaced it. Now I’m told I need a root canal. I’ve already spent way too much fixing a problem that didn’t exist, and now I need to spend more. Personally, I feel they push treatment plans that aren’t necessary, or at least not urgent. Let the buyer beware.

Watch your wallets! Summit considers themselves to be a Premier dentistry so they can get away with charging more than the norm. Your insurance will not pay more than the norm charge. I paid about $1000 for a crown that BROKE off within two years. By then I had changed Dentists because of the high cost that was tacked on weeks after you thought you had paid the total. My new dentist told me that the crown wasn't a strong one but more a cosmetic one, that surely would not last on a big back tooth. Either they knew what they were doing and figured I'd be paying for another new crown soon, or they really don't know what they're doing. Either way, my tooth has now cost about $2000 since insurance would not pay again in such a short amount of time. Summit does not call you back or try to work with you. This has been a battle for the last year and all I can do now is complain and make others aware of this practice.
