Dr Edwin F Johary DDS

As a result of an extreme fear of dentist, I didn't maintain healthy dental habits, which resulted in gum disease! Once having no choice, but to see a dentist, because my dental health was really bad, I summoned up the courage to find a dentist, and lucky for me, that dentist was Dr. Johary! The staff is friendly, and helpful! Dr. Johary has a manner that put patients...even those like me at ease! He explained every step in the procedure! I now have that million dollar smile that I had in my youth....Thanks to Dr. Johary, and his amazing staff! If you are in need of a dentist, I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Johary!!!!!

Went to Dr. Johary for several months then once my daughter and I went, while I was going to get my teeth cleaned my daughter was taken to another room to see the doc. In the process of getting my teeth cleaned I could hear him yelling at someone and asked the lady if he was yelling at my daughter to which she replied she didn't know. When it was my turn to see him he then started yelling at me while my daughter was in the room and it was my child he was yelling at while my teeth were being cleaned.!!!! The only reason I didn't leave right then is because he was working in my mouth. He was very unprofessional, immature and I have not been back since. I say stay away from here. He was yelling because he said my daughter needed braces, referred us to another dentist of his choice. I took my daughter to a dentist closer to home that I choose and was told that my daughter did not need braces. He started yelling at her because she didn't get the braces and when she tried to tell him that she was told she didn't need them he accused her of having an attitude. No place for children for sure. I am now going to a dentist closer to home and acts like a professional. It is a shame for his office staff because they were good.

Dr. Johary is hands down the best in town! He's always very polite and extremely thorough! My entire family has gone to Dr. Johary. My 5 year old daughter looks forward to going to the dentist now because of his polite staff and inviting environment. I really love this place! A++. Get an appointment and see for yourself!

Everyone in this office is so nice and helpful. Dr. Johary pulled my wisdom teeth and was SO gentle. He didn't hurt me at all. I was really nervous about it, but it was not bad. Awesome dentist.

I had an awful experience at Dr. Johary's office. Initial exam was ok. The female staff was friendly and attentive. I went back on 5/31/17 for my fillings/extraction. Since it was late, I paid upfront for the services so I could leave right after. At first, Dr. J was polite enough, telling me to raise my hand if I was in pain, etc. At one point there were nearly 6 people in the room, only 2 of whom were actually working on my teeth. That was a bit weird but it got worse. When Dr. J was in the middle of my fillings, a young woman whose name I will not post came in. She was an employee and came in to speak to Johary about a gym membership. The following exchange took place:
YW:"Dr. Johary, I'm really not comfortable with this."
DJ: "Do not piss me off. I'm already in a bad mood, it's been a long day, do not make me mad right now."
This certainly got my attention, as the person who was in such a "bad mood" was knee deep in my molars.
YW: "I really just don't want to do this."
DJ: "Well you've got to do something. You look horrible."
At this point I thought he was making a tasteless joke. However, it was evident from her humiliated expression that she didn't find it funny. He continued to berate her in front of me and the other people in the room. "Everyone else in the office is using it. You're walking around here like a chubby-wubby, I mean seriously, you look like garbage."
I was horrified at what I was hearing.
One of the female DA's said, "C'mon. Don't say that." He replied, "I'm joking. But someone needs to tell her the truth! I'm trying to help her." Again the DA said, "No, that's not okay."
At that point I spoke up. I told him what he was saying was completely inappropriate. He immediately got defensive, claimed he was joking and then said, "I'm trying to help her. I help people and all they do is complain. We give people free teeth whitening, I bought gym memberships for all my staff, I'm doing a bunch of extra stuff on your teeth that I really don't have to. Your teeth are messed up and I'm trying to fix them but people want to tell me what I can and cannot say."
I expressed my disgust and told him it was not a joke because she did not find it funny. He then said, and I QUOTE: "I paid for her gym membership so that gives me the right to talk to her however I want."
I said "NO, it doesn't."
He responded, "Yes it does. Now keep still so I can finish fixing your teeth."
The young woman said nothing but her face said 1000 words.
1. Again, I paid UPFRONT for the fillings/extraction. I was not advised of any "additional "work he was doing to my teeth. If he hadn't been mid-procedure, I would've left.
2. After I voiced my opinion and called him on his completely unprofessional behavior, all facades of politeness went out the window. He became quite rough with me, commanding me to "keep still" or "STOP moving" when I adjusted my legs or winced in pain. He no longer asked me to put my hand up if I was uncomfortable. He was irritable and egotistical and I have never been so uncomfortable in a dentist's office in my life. When he finished, the left side of my face was numb and swollen yet I was given no after-care instructions. However, he did insist that his DAs show me the before & after pictures so I could see his work. I had to go home and google "fillings after-care instructions". I now have extreme sensitivity in two of the teeth he filled, and despite me eating only soup, a fragment of the composite he used fell off the NEXT day.
3. Due to a miscommunication, my extraction had to be rescheduled. Just after my appt, I spoke privately to the DA who spoke up for the young woman. I expressed my extreme discomfort at the situation. The next day I called Susan at the front desk, cancelled my extraction appt, and asked for a refund.

This was completely unacceptable. He body-shamed and verbally abused an employee in front of me, then tried to justify it. I will never return to his office, nor will I ever recommend Dr. Johary to anyone else.

place is awesome everyone one is nice and very helpful I enjoy the service here all the staff are kind and sweet Dr johary is a very good dentist I really appreciate there service and I recommend other people there 🙂💞.

Worst mistake to ever go to him! Beyond rude him along with his staff only 1 or 2 ladies were amazing but other then that no! He accused me of doing drugs because my teeth,after I told him multiple times I've never done any,I have a Calcium deficiency,lactose intolerant and yes on my part I drank alot of sodas. He got mad because he was yanking my head so hard I couldn't keep my head in place he grabbed my face and yanked it,I felt everything and he just kept saying I was making my self think that,got upset because he broke a tooth and I blocked it with my tung so I wouldn't swallow it and because I was gargling because I did not want to swallow my blood!Got mad and told me to be quiet that was being to loud when simply i was shedding tears while trying to get through the pain. They also let me walk out bleeding all over myself nothing to stop it I had to go to CVS and get stuff. Worst and most unprofessional man and staff I've ever met.

I am extremely pleased with this Dentist office! Everyone, including the receptionist, the dental assistants, especially Daniella, & of course Doctor Johary, were all assertive, comforting, & knowledgable as I had wisdom teeth extractions. All 4 of them at once! This office does supply local anesthesia as a shot form but doesn’t serve nutritious oxide so I was fully awake during the procedure. Everything went smoothly, although I bit down on Dr. Johary’s fingers.. twice from reflex. I’m sorry lol! Over all, I will definitely be continuing dental work with them. Highly recommend! ^_^

This is by far the worst experience I have ever experienced... first they couldn't keep my appointment time correct. I went to his office to getmy teeth pulled. I had 9 teeth that where suppose to be surgically removed. . The rest where easy extraction. . So I thought I ... little behold I got there at 1030 they called me right back at 1200 they finally came to numb my mouth well every one leaves the room I never seen any one again til 130 they came in he tells me if u feel pain raise your hand... well he took his poker abd I could feel it so I was trying to tell him hes automatically had a attitude. ... well he g gave me more numbing meds
Yea let me tell u I felt every bit of it. He called another lady in to hold my hands down I was moaning cause it hurt he was nothing but a ass whole that has a smart mouth telling me im a bad patient and I was in so much pain I was crying that he said I was a dangerous patient and he threaten to shove a tool in my mouth to keep to keep my mouth pried open after he had a lady come in holding my arms down Courtney his ast was letting me choke o n blood my stitches where so loose
I keep catching my tongue when I talked ripping my stitches out I felt him rip my teeth out that where suppose to be surgically removed.
he is a horrible person and one of the b uhh chest jerks I've ever meet..

I have been coming here for more than a year and gabby is always so friendly when I come in she answers all my questions and is really helpful
