Dr. Mohip and her team are always so thoughtful, professional, empathetic and have always gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable while I was there. I have been a patient of Shining Smiles for the past five years, and won’t ever see another dentist while she is around! The office space has such a calm, bright, relaxing atmosphere that it instantly makes you feel at home. I love the fact that the staff will always go over the treatment/paperwork/plan with you and will let you know your estimated out of pocket costs ahead of time. I can’t recommend them enough you will not be disappointed!

I absolutely loved my visit!! Given the unprecedented times and the need for social distancing and extra attention to cleanliness, I walked into Shining Smiles instantly impressed. It is very modern, clean and tidy. My hygienist Lori was so super sweet. She was extremely knowledgeable and kept me informed of everything she was doing and seeing during my exam/cleaning. Dr. Mohip was nice and made me feel confident that I chose the right dentist. I look forward to making Shining Smiles my dental home!!

My family and I have been going to Shining Smiles for almost 12 years! We love our dental hygienist Lori and exclusively see her only. She is so personable and knowledgeable. Dr. Mohip is a fantastic dentist. She is patient and thorough. The new office they moved into a year or two ago is state-of-the-art and so beautiful. They also have been very vigilant in ensuring the safety of everyone visiting their office during the pandemic. We couldn’t recommend them more highly.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shaila Chahwala (Dr. Mohip) since 6/18/2013, when she was with Wolf Family Dentistry in Powder Springs, GA. I never had an issue with her practice until May 16, 2022. I was the client that drove 7hrs from another state, for dental appointments with her.
May 16, it all changed:
I arrived for my 11:00am appointment. An associate informed me I had an outstanding $77 bill from Sept. 2018 and $40 no-show in Oct. 2021. Payment was immediately requested before I would be seen.
First Error: Accusing a client of an unpaid 4yr old bill (they became technical and stated 3 years, 8 mths– whatever, it was long time) and a no-show fee, at the time of the visit. I requested documentation and an explanation for not contacting me, especially since I had been in the office for routine dental services since 2018. The excuse was, "the records were recently reconciled, and the insurance company (Delta Dental) just the denied the 2018 claim & a statement was mailed to my home. I called BS on it.
Second Error: The rep would not tell me my address in their system. I asked a rep sitting near us and she recited my current out-of-state address. I asked the first rep, how was a statement mailed which I never received. She mumbled an incoherent response. I told the rep, there was a disconnect in their office.
Third Error: They could not provide documentation I owed a bill. I logged into my insurance account and showed the rep the statements which showed the I did not owe any money on the 9/2018 claim. Further, there was a note the insurance company denied the claim because it was paid to Dr Mohip in an earlier service.
Fourth Error: They did not have record of contacting the insurance company. While in their office, I also called the insurance company and spent my appointment time on the phone with the insurance carrier. While on speaker, the insurance rep informed all of us that the claim was denied because Dr. Mohip’s office performed the follow-up service before the required a 30-day waiting period. Dr. Mohip’s staff submitted the same claim 7 times and the rep questioned their actions. The insurance carrier stated they were not paying the claim, and I was not to pay the claim.
Fifth Error: I resolved the issue which the office staff should have resolved in 3 years and 8 months. One associate apologized, and stated, “I hate dealing with insurance companies.” I have yet to receive an apology or thank you for doing their job from Mohip.
Sixth Error: They made a second error with the $40 no-show fee. Dr. Mohip stated, “My girls would never charge a fee for no-show in error. If they place the charge on the account, it is accurate.” At this point, I was disgusted. I offered to show Mrs. Mohip ( I have lost respect) my cell phone record to confirm I called their office to cancel. She declined but offered to "waive" the $40 cancellation fee. Well, Mrs. Mohip, you cannot waive a fee that was erroneously charged. Rather, you are only correcting your error. Further, it is utterly unprofessional to stand in front of a client, staff, and assert what staff does or does not do. If they messed up the insurance, they will mess up an office charge. They are human and humans make mistakes. (that is what Mohip told me when she was certain the fault was mine).
It takes time to build relationships and seconds to obliterate them. I was offered to return tomorrow for the service I should have received today. Initially I scheduled, but as I type this review, I see there was no regard for my time, history as a client nor dedication. I just left a message canceling my rescheduled appointment. I respect the dental practice because my father is a dentist. However, Mrs. Shaila Mohip - Chahwala is one that I will never return to. She was a great dentist but today's events made it easy for this 9-yr client to close the door and never look back.

I always receive outstanding service at Shining Smiles Dentistry. Doctor Mohip and her staff are always very friendly and polite. The dentist office is very clean and safe! My dental hygienist April is always very nice and courteous and she always provides me with A+ service! I highly recommend Shining Smiles Dentistry!

Not the biggest fan of the dentist in general but the women at this office made the experience as enjoyable (& through) as possible! Shoutout to Shakira the BEST hygienist ever and yes, I will floss more!
