Shining Smiles Family Dentistry

I visited Shining Smiles yesterday and I must say, if you are in search of a place that has EXCELLENT customer service, attentive to your needs... well, this is the place! For me it’s not just about how good practices are but the quality of their staff ability to engage with me in a personable, healthy, organic manner. Let my share my experience.

Before I stepped into the building, I was greeted at the door by a big smile as a young, vibrant woman named Kalia welcomes me inside. Kalia assistant me in completing all of my paperwork and conducted a health temp scan. It was refreshing how she went about the process, I didn’t feel uneasy or like I was in a hospital or at the airport going through the TSA scanner.

Once she walked me to the back offices, I was in the care of Regina who conducting my initial assessment and x-rays. I was absolutely blown away by the heart of Regina she was the sweetest person I have encountered in years and her professionalism was amazing.

During the assessment process she took her time to not only see the conduction of my teeth and gums but also asked me my thoughts and comforts. As she began with my x-rays she conveyed the steps she would take before hand, and during the process she communicated to ensure I was comfortable. If you frequent the dentist you know how uncomfortable it can be, for me I haven’t been in for some time and was a bit ashamed, fearful, and extremely uncomfortable; but the staff at Shining Smiles gave me full assurance that I was in caring hands. Also, what was so amazing is they didn’t do this by telling me I was but showing me throughout my visit.

After wrapping up X-rays with the amazing Regina I met Dr. Stanley, who I found to be a energetic down to earth guy who just happen to be a Doctor. I say this because he didn’t come off as a white coat speaking from a script but rather he had a humanistic approach. He was empathetic and shared his journey in maintaining health teeth and it felt good to not be judged. All the while Dr. Stanley, Regina and I shared a few random good laughs it was an extremely unexpected pleasure to visit the dentist. Since I was so confident in their level of care I decided to get start some of the work that needed to be done.

After all these great experiences, the icing on the cake was Dr. Mohip, who is the founder/owner of Shining , who actually came to speak with me personally after all my work was done. What impressed me was it wasn’t a exit visit she was genuinely interested in my experience and my next steps and wanted to thank me for my travel to give them an opportunity to service me. Prior to choosing Shining Smiles, I was online searching through countless dental practices and reviews. Then, I came across Shining Smiles. I checked out their website and appreciated they had testimonial videos which I had not seen on any other dentistry sites. From it, I was able to gain a sense of how organic and powerful their culture is not provide top notch, heartfelt, and professional environment.

I said to Dr. Mohip, you and your team are awesome and the culture l you have cultivated and manifested is unbelievable. Ok I am almost done but I have to mention Kasey, she handled my account concerning the financial aspect.

Kasey was extremely straight forward and was able to give me options as she listen attentively to my financial circumstances. I rare for me to freely talk about money.

Before leaving, I met April, one of the on staff Hygienist just in passing and she was kind enough to inquire about my visit and introduce herself, I thought this place is amazing.

I would have regretted not coming to Shining Smiles I am glad I did so, just to add I drove more than 1hr to get my dental work done by Shinning Smile and I am committed to doing so moving forward because this place can not be duplicated. I want you to have the same level of excellence, because you desire it also. Don’t go anywhere but Shining Smiles.

Dr. Mohip and the staff at Shining Smiles are the best. Knowledgeable and so friendly and kind. I used to hate going to the dentist. Not any more.

Dr. Mohip and her team are the absolute best! My teeth look great (totally cried in the chair) and I cannot thank her enough. My previous teeth were crooked, discolored, just horrible due to embarrassment from decades of neglect. Dr. Mohip and her staff never made me feel embarrassed and their goal was to make me happy, and they did! If you're thinking about cosmetic work, DO IT! I was fortunate to be referred to her from a co-worker. I have also referred a friend that asked who did my teeth (yeah, they look that dang good). I cannot thank Dr. Mohip and her staff enough! Forever patient until she retires, and I don't live close either.

Best experience I’ve ever had at a dental office. I really needed a cleaning and they worked with me no problems at all. This place is beautiful ,clean and everyone is so polite. The lady that did my cleaning was an angle she was so gentle with everything and made me feel 100% comfortable the entire time.

I was overdue for my cleaning, due to procrasnination. My reason for choosing shining smiles was due to the extremely positive reviews I read online. My dental hygienist was very kind and knew I was nervous prior to my cleaning, she couldn't have made my experience go any smoother. She was very professional and polite. Dr Mohip was also very kind and polite. I will definitely come back here for future procedures.

Hands down the best professional, trustworthy, caring dentist! Both dentists as I have seen both, along with all of the dental hygienist, are just absolutely amazing! I have always experienced high anxiety when going to the dentist, but shining smiles dentistry have become more like family! This place will definitely keep you in good hands and always out for your best interest! Shannon has been by my side since Day 1 and has worked with me A LOT on the financial side! She has gone above and beyond to explain ALL options available and never once let me down during my whole process. She had open arms since my very first day! GO SHANNON - you rock!!! Overall, if you’re looking for a family dentist (all age friendly) please give this place a chance you won’t regret it!

Shining Smiles Family Dentistry is the best dentist in Powder Springs! Dr. Mohip and her staff really to put patients first. They listen to your needs and treat you like family. If you are looking for a dentist in the Powder Springs or Marietta area I highly recommend.

Dr Mohip, the entire staff were truly professional from the time I entered their impressive facility to the time I left. Dr Mohip explained in detail the dental procedure that best fits my dental needs and alleviated my fear of getting dental work done. Shining Smiles Family Denistry also has Covid 19 saftey procedures in place to protect their staff as well as their patients.

Shining Smiles seemed very lovely to me. The people are very nice and the place is very clean. I just happened to have a bad experience. One of my upper front tooth veneers cracked and I needed it replaced. I visited and I was assured they could handle it. I paid my 2 thousand dollars and a mold was made and sent to their lab. A temporary was created on site and it was terrible since they couldn’t make a temp close to my color at all. I had to drive to their lab in Kennesaw for color matching for the new veneer. When it was made and I went in to have it fitted it was a very different shade. I didn’t accept this and a whole new temp was created which again, wasn’t very good, and I waited for my veneer. When I went back in to have this second attempt put on...it didn’t fit! I sat there and they had me bite down on the veneer with gauze between my teeth for 30 minutes, hoping my teeth would widen slightly and allow the veneer to slide into place. This never happened and when I pressed the girl who made the temp, she admitted that she made the temp a little too small and my teeth had shifted. I excused myself and went outside with my daughter and she and I agreed that the veneer was also the wrong shade! By this time I was very nervous about having them try a third time, I was sick and tired of living with a yellow front tooth for months, and I had just lost trust in them. I told them that I appreciated all of their attempts but I was going to have to return to ACCD (where I got my original veneers) to have them replace it. They said they understood and I left.
I went to ACCD and they made me an amazing temp which honestly looked exactly like my other veneers and the first veneer I received was spot on perfect shape and color. Also, I thought they were going to be more expensive but it was the same price!
When I called Shining Smiles to receive a refund of some sort...I was denied. I told them that they could deduct for their time and for the office visits, etc, but that paying the full amount seemed ridiculous. They wouldn’t budge. Last, two months later I was in so much pain and I needed a root canal in that very tooth, which was another three thousand out of pocket. The doctor told me that it was probably due to the repeat trauma to that tooth and I’m convinced that this would not have happened if I didn’t have to have repeated temps and attempts at veneers at Shining Smiles. If this review helps anyone to learn from my mistake, and go to a veneer EXPERT if you ever need veneer help, then I am pleased.
I’m also very disappointed and feel wronged that I wasn’t given even a partial refund when they failed to provide me with what I was promised.
In writing this I realize I’m not changing the company rating here, which is good. I know that Shining Smiles is more than capable of smiling and be friendly to their clients
...and probably offer good services as far as cleanings and such. I just hope that if someone comes to these reviews to look for a search word such as veneer, regret, or refund ...then I’d like for you to hear my experience. Good luck.
