Highly disappointed in the Waterfront administrative team. Although I took the initiative to reach out in advance of a trip to ensure documentation was in line for my son's procedure, the team FAILED to reply or provide the CORRECT information. If you're unable to answer everyday day to day communications, how does one have faith in the competencies to perform dental procedures? At this point, I do NOT recommend any families to Hawaii Family Dental Waterfront offices.

The new hygienist is so thorough and has a great attitude! Dr. Lau dropped in after to take a look, at which time I was able to commend him for the many fittings and patient (both meanings intended) care. He is the best. He crafted a partial denture that needs no adhesive, stays put while eating, and has almost no food slipping under it. It is held by a good fit causing super suction and the very few teeth I have left on my upper gums.
It will be a great loss when he actually re-retires!

Had my teeth cleaned by Laura. She was very thorough not only in cleaning my teeth, but in checking my throat and tongue. She was terrific in cleaning as i have sensitive teeth. She was also positive in giving feedback to my brushing and flossing.

UPDATE: Hawaii Family Dental never reached out. It is clear that collecting on inflated insurance-paid procedures takes priority over patient satisfaction and well being.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been a patient here for 9 years and it has gotten worse lately. They milk your insurance and don't care about your time.

I had a sensitive molar and have been in 4 times about it and only on the 4th visit got a solid treatment plan from them. There is no continuity of care. You'll see a different dentist every time.

Take a close look at your bill and understand your own deductible and coverage--more than once I have discovered errors (always in favor of the clinic, surprise!).

I cannot recommend Hawaii Family Dental to anyone.

I was recently seen by Dr.Sterling and his team and I just want to say “Thank you”, my procedure went smoothly and all my anxiety went away as they assured me that I’m in good hands. The numbing kicked in fast and I could not feel a thing. Very professional and clean office, in your ever looking for great dental care I highly recommend coming here.

I never want to give this place one star, but I am disappointed about my appointment and I had to do it. I had an appointment in Dec 12th to set up new Invisalign on my teeth. It turned out the guy who worked on my teeth burned my gum twice during the time he tightened the Invisalign on my teeth. I did a lot before, but I never get hurt like this. He also accidentally burned one spot on my face. It was minor, but I was so upset about this mistake. He even dropped my Invisalign twice on the floor. I couldn’t believe that they let this guy do this job and it’s not professional at all. I am disappointed to see him did this job without paying attention in everything and making mistakes like three or four times. I changed my Invisalign before and never get hurt like this.Hopefully they will improve their service when I visit them next time.

Shanice is marvelous! My teeth have never been so clean. She is the best in the industry and I am so lucky to have her as my hygenist. Linda Tamanaha

My husband and I have been going to this dental clinic for years and it has wonderful service and professional assistance from both doctors and all staff. We have had a number of dental surgeries here and have been very happy with all the work they have done. Highly recommend!

I have PTSD the front desk staff were laughing and talking so loud I could hear them from inside the ex ray room! I made 2 complaints but to NO avail and was totally ignored! The teeth cleaning was very painful ! Another HORRIBLE experience I had to go through!
