Hawaii Family Dental Honolulu

I made an appointment as a new patient a month in advance. At my previous dentist I filled out a form for my records to be released to my new dentist. The office staff at Hawaii Family told me they would call my previous dentist and get my records. The night before my appointment, I get a call from Hawaii Family saying they never called to get my records, so could I do it in the morning? Frustrated that the office staff forgot, I just called my previous dentist anyways. I got my records emailed to Hawaii Family immediately. When I got to the dentist at 9am for my 9:10 appointment, the office staff seemed completely blind sided. "We don't have your records." I said they were emailed this morning. The reply was it was going to take some time to go through the emails and find them. I waited for an hour and nothing was happening. They found my records, but they did not let me in for the appointment. I asked if I should reschedule, they said "Oh it will only be a 10-15 more minutes." I waited another 30 minutes. So, an hour and a half after my appointment, I was finally taken to see the dentist. The dentist was perfectly fine, but the office staff was terrible. I have never been so frustrated at an appointment. Waiting an hour and a half is unacceptable especially when they let other patients who had later appointments in before me. Be careful about the office staff!

I had a great experience with Hawaii Family Dental. The dentists and dental assistants were courteous and friendly, professional and understanding. Their facilities are great. The only problem I had was, because it is a chain, I sometimes had difficulty contacting someone at my particular location.

Shanice ROCKS!!! She makes my trips to the dentist SO much more enjoyable with her mannerisms, wit, infectious personality and laugh. HFDC is lucky to have someone with such gifts as part of their staff. Give her a raise!

Exceptional service, fast and easy appointments. Most importantly, the staff and Dr. where caring and professional. My teeth have never looked better!!! 5 Stars all the way!

I have been going to Hawaii Family Dental at Restaurant Row for around 7 years now, and Dr. Mitsunaga has helped relieve my anxiety of being in a dentist's office. I appreciate his clear communication, not belittling but truly helpful, and he always does great work. I don't often write reviews but felt I should give praise where it is due, after a long appointment at the end of the work day, when it has got to be tiresome, I still received genuine services with kind and energetic staff. Very grateful.

I love Hawaii Family Dental Centers. They do everything for you and you just show up. They help you with all you billing and other details for your dental work. The staff is very friendly and they make you feel at home. They always remind you of your appointments by calling and emailing to confirm. The work they do is good and complete. The doctors and assistances explain everything required and what they are going to do before starting the procedure. They always check and make sure you are OK as they do the procedure. I would and will recommend Hawaii Family Dental Centers for your dental needs.

My wife was having sever pain when trying to chew so we set up an appointment at HFD. This was our first visit and I was impressed with the huge facility. We were expecting them to try and sell us a new bridge. Not so! The doctor and all personnel were very professional and got to the root of the problem. We got out of there with a $67 bill to my surprise. I'm very pleased with their service and will be changing my dentist to HFD.The receptionist gave a me a good tip to park on the second level D2 and take the elevator to the third floor, room 300.. There was plenty of parking and they validate your parking stub so no charge.

Went to the dentist for an overall deep cleaning. I had started the deep cleaning with very bad receded gums and they are healing "attaching" nicely. This time the experience wasn't painful, as they had taken measures to prescribe toothpaste that would desensitize my teeth. The staff is very helpful and takes a lot of time to explain everything. So glad I found this place. Am recommending this place to anyone who is looking for an all-in-one dental center.

Dr. Meredith is the bomb! Both he and his assistant were able to calm my anxiety about the procedure. He made sure I wasn't experiencing any pain. Their teamwork was seamless. Before I knew it, he finished the surgery and his assistant carefully placed some gauze on the areas that were worked on. Mahalo

I went for my cleaning yesterday. I'm always very pleased with the thorough procedures and the valuable information that Diana provides. She goes the extra mile and makes specific suggestions for the future of my dental health. I actually look forward to my dental appointments with Diana and Dr. Dunn! Also, all the staff are personally friendly and helpful.
