I give two stars because the staff are always polite and courteous.
However the Dr I visited to have a filing replaced was something else. I came in for a simple cracked filling replacement and answer the questionnaire and stated anything hot/cold food causes sensitivity. So when the Dr comes in he tells me he has to send me to a Nerve Doctor because I said yes to those questions. So I explained that the filling came out that's why I need a new filling, he rudely asks me if I'm a doctor and would like to see my license. I say what is the purpose of seeing a nerve doctor. (missing filling is causing sensitivity) He immediately asks me if this is about money ( I was shocked) I said this has nothing to do with money its the extra curriculum on getting a filing.
Long story short I got out of the chair and told him you are wasting my time and yours.
In the end I've been coming to Gentle Dental for years. I will not return though. There is a byword going around that Gentle Dental upsales you treatment procedures. I went to Hawaii Family Dental and the same filing has been fixed. (No extra curriculum) So to the Dr that told me rudely I am not a doctor, a real doctor confirmed my suspicion and fixed my filing.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. Cleanings, exams and other work that I've had done here were excellent. They truly are gentle when they care for your teeth and gums. They will also help you figure out the best plan for you given the work you need to get done, your insurance coverage, and your financial situation. I tried another clinic, but decided to come back. I highly recommend them!

Excellent & professional service! I enjoy going to the dentist now because of Dr. Lee & her dental assistant. They are both personable and make me feel comfortable. The view of the ocean & Diamond Head are beautiful while in the chair. I definitely recommend Gentle Dental Makakilo!

I've had extensive work done here, and every single staff member is amazing. We're a military family, and we've moved around a lot throughout the years. This place by far, is the best dentist office I've ever been too. I highly recommend. I'm moving in a few months and everyone will be missed.

Have been coming here for 10 years now and I absolutely love the staff here. They are so friendly and very accommodating in scheduling. The facility is very clean, comfortable and relaxing (especially since not all dental treatments are pleasant).

Gentle dental is exactly that. They were so careful with my sensitive teeth it was completely painless. The staff especially Baby are so nice and welcoming. Genifer the hygienist is so good and really cares about patients comfort. I highly recommend this office. Especially if you’re anxious about dental visits!

Gentle Dental in Makakilo has a wonderful and bright atmosphere. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and informative to everyone. They informed me in an understandable way on how I’m getting the best results for my teeth with the help of my insurance. My Hygienist made me understand that brushing my gums is important and his coordinator Ryehe has both shown an astonishing amount of knowledge to make sure that I know this is the place to be go to for my teeth to be healthy for a clean and white smile. Highly recommended.
