Our personal experience was good. Our children's teeth were cleaned and we left with our needs met. I recommended them to my sister and she had such a bad experience that I will never return. When we got there for our appointment we were unsure if our youngest was on our policy. So they took our card and while my older kids were having their teeth cleaned they checked our insurance policy and saw that he was covered. They then cleaned my sons teeth. My sister went in and gave them her insurance card and they confirmed they were covered. They completed their cleaning but had a less than friendly experience. Fast forward a few weeks and they received an $800 bill that stated it had already been billed to insurance and the $800 was the remaining balance. She called and they said it actually wasn't billed to insurance and to wait. She received another bill for $300+ dollars. Unusual since they purchased insurance that specifically covered cleanings and x-rays. After many conversations and much confusion they have now been told that they do NOT check insurance coverage and that checking patient insurance coverage is "not their responsibility" because they are "too overwhelmed with work to check insurance." When she asked why they took her insurance card when she got there they said they couldn't possibly contact the insurance company in that amount of time. Yet that is exactly what they did for us. This situation is unusual since every dentist I've ever been to does contact insurance companies to check coverage despite what the office manager claims. I called to speak to the office manager and let her know we were aware of their contradictions and after her cutting me off repeatedly and not allowing me to speak I asked her to stop talking so I could finish my sentence and she actually hung up on me. When I called back she told me that me asking her to stop talking so I could finish talking was “threatening her” and that I acted unprofessionally. In my many years of working in an office setting it was common knowledge that hanging up on a paying customer because you don’t like what they’re saying is unprofessional and unacceptable. Had I ever acted in that manner I would have been let go from my job. There were several other unprofessional moments as well where they were caught in their deceit. Moments like "the reason YOUR situation was different is because you were an established patient" and when I informed her our visit to them was our first time there she stammered as one can only do when caught in a lie. Proof that she is willing to say whatever needs to be said to excuse their behavior without actually knowing the facts. Another instance was when she told my sister "I never said it was your responsibility to CALL your insurance. I said it was your responsibility to KNOW what your policy is." This kind of behavior is disappointing to say the least. I hope to save potential patients the indignity if being lied to and taken advantage of by this dishonest company. We have since gone to River Rock Dentistry and had an amazing experience. They checked our insurance and made sure we were covered and treated my children so kindly. We will definitely be going back there.

Update:

Please note that they will say nice things and offer to talk further to clear up “miscommunications” in their copied and pasted response. But the reality is that in order to clear up “miscommunications” you need to be willing to actually talk to their customers, which they are unwilling to do as is apparent by their hanging up on customers and quotes like “I will not discuss this with you any further.”

We see Dr. Smith in Elko NV and I can't say enough good things about them! He and his staff are hands down the best! My 5 year old actually loves going to the dentist. Dr. Smith sings to my one year old to calm him while he checks his teeth and I can tell he genuinely cares about my kids and their well-being. From the office staff all the way to the doctor- everyone is amazing! We love this place!

I can't even begin to say how happy I am to have such caring people as the crew in twin falls. My kids get excited when they hear thy are going to the dentist and that never happened before they went there. They always make sure my kids are comfortable and not nervous. They take the time to explain to the parents and make sure everyone is on the same page. I would recommend them to anyone I know.

My son knocked his teeth into another kid's head while playing. It was after hours, so I called the Emergency line and the Dr contacted me back quickly. I was able to text him pictures of my son's mouth and he determined whether we needed to come in right away or if we could wait until open hours. It was reassuring. When we did go in, all the staff was kind and helpful. I would reccomend this dental office to all parents.
