It took them 7 months to send the bill to the right insurance at the same time they sent the bill to collection. They were out of reach and not responding to phone calls for couple of months, when they answered they said their system were down and could not confirm if they sent the bill to the right insurance. Finally they billed the insurance and I paid the balance left and I am still getting letters from the collection agency.

Nearly six months after an appointment, I am still on phone calls with a collection agency trying to settle a $151 bill that I have already paid for a routine cleaning that was supposed to be covered by my insurance that Midtown accepts.

Normally, I would write this off as being the unlucky person who got one of the regular mess-ups that happen from time to time. But the inability of Midtown to deal with (or even address) the following issues is extremely disappointing.

Family went for a routine cleaning, completely covered by insurance, in network. Dr. Mardis was out apparently, with no warning or call about it. They kept our appointment and took our insurance as normal. Balance leaving that day was $0.

Four months later, we received a call from collections. We hadn't received another bill from Midtown, no clue what the amount is for. Literally sent to collections before we were even billed.

Called Midtown, apparently the dentist they had us see was a traveling dentist that was out of our network. Because of this, we owed more money for the unexpected out of network costs, and "our insurance would pay us back later." We paid the amount due immediately.

My insurance has no clue what they are talking about, and I am just out $151 for a cleaning. Midtown also had no clue why collections would be calling us, but nearly two months after we have paid the bill, we are still receiving letters from collections. Midtown won't address us being sent to collections because they claim they didn't send us to collections.

All this is over a $0 balance day of, with no further bills received until after we are literally called by collections. And I am still out $151 over a routine cleaning because our scheduled appointment with Dr. Mardis was changed to a different dentist with no warning. We had no way of knowing we wouldn't be seeing our normal dentist until my wife was already off work in their lobby with our family.

The service at the time of my appointment was excellent! I was very happy that I had found a new good dentist being new to the area. However, their administration has been a deal breaker for me and I questions if how they have treated my situation is even legal.

This review is going to be somewhat lengthy. Mostly due to this being the only other way I can think of to receive a response. Midtown clearly has tons of positive reviews but I guess I have to humble them a bit.

Back in October I believe, I had my first appointment and should have noticed a red flag but didn't think anything of it at the time. They had absolutely no admin works. None. They left it all to a dental assistant who was nice, respectful and did a great job.

At the end of the appointment, when you generally speak with someone handling the admin side of things, I spoke with her about if I would owe a copay (knowing my insurance generally requires little to none and also fully covered) which she replied that I wouldn't owe anything.

January comes around and I get a bill from Midtown Dentistry along with a collection agency for $350. There must have been a mix up or misunderstanding, which is fine, it happens.

However, the lack of communication over the past month after numerous emails and phone calls has been unacceptable. I wouldn't even say lack, there has been no communication at all, other than collection agency notices. Is their whole business plan to not run insurance and let collection agencies handle the billing?

I was hoping to get this resolved quickly as I originally thought there were admin issues for a short amount of time. Clearly they are still heavily struggling on the admin side of things. Unfortunate.

It is wonderful to be in an professional setting. The staff and business is very clean. The atmosphere is good and nice it makes you feel like you are with family. Even Dr. Mardis is very nice to talk to when you come in to see him. If you don’t have a dentist I guarantee you ‘ ll love being there.

Everyone is so nice and friendly. Been going here for while now and would definitely recommend to anyone.
We had actually gone in on the wrong week. They had informed us our appointment was the following week, but they had openings if we just wanted to stay and take those. We did of coarse. It was great of them to get us in early.
We have built-up a relationship with all the ladies who clean our teeth. They are all awesome. If your looking for a new dentist. Please go try this ace out. I highly recommend it.

My hygienist is extremely personable and very thoughtful. She understands my distaste for having my teeth cleaned but does everything she can to make my experience the best it can be. The staff is courteous and the doctor is straight forward and great to deal with.

The reception staff were very friendly on the phone and were able to accommodate my schedule to get me in in a timely fashion. Dr. Madris was very professional as was his assistant Emily. They explained everything thoroughly during my visit. No one enjoys going to the dentist however the staff here are very friendly and the Dentist quite thorough and professional. :-)
