Both Dr. Doug and Doctor Ben are gentle and reassuring with all their patients and go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable while your teeth are being cleaned or while you're undergoing a procedure. You will receive excellent dental care while you are in their hands and their aim is for that excellent care never to hurt.

The staff at Horton Family Dental are all very professional but also warm and caring, and very well trained. The hygienists are all excellent and the receptionist will know your name very quickly, which makes going to the dentist kind of like going to Cheers where everybody knows your name.

Always a pleasure to go to the Horton Family Dental practice. I can't believe I can say that. The front staff knows you and are very courteous. The dental assistants are very personable and Dr. Ben is always concerned about your comfort.
What a find for my husband and I. My husband made his first visit there yesterday after having a bad experience with another practice who had told him that he had 2 cavities. There was no cavity to be found. Kinda sad that other dentists are not so honest.

Horton Family Dental is an exceptional family dentistry in the true sense of the phrase. They are friendly, communicative and answer all of the questions they are asked. Father/Son Dentists always will let you know what they're doing, why they're doing it and what to expect. Their expert staff are friendly and professional and make an effort to know your name. Their Hygienists are top of the line and professional and always make you feel welcome and comfortable. A trip to the Dentist is no longer a negative thing when you are being cared for by Horton Family Dentists.

Just one thing though, why do they only ask you a question when your mouth is full of equipment and/or fingers???

I've been coming to Horton Family Dental for at least twenty years and frankly chose them because I knew Dr. Horton was on the ARC Board and was the family dentist for a child with a difficult disability. I thought "that's my kind of guy!" And I have never regretted it. Horton Family Dental really lives up to its name as a "family" dental practice...they feel like family. They are also very professional and up-to-date on the newest techniques and will help you plan how to meet your long-term dental needs and pay for them. Most surprisingly, I was hit with an extreme tooth pain at about 4:30 one afternoon at a workshop I was attending. I called in desperation to Dr. Horton, he told me to come straight away, and he worked on me until 6:00. That's family. I am also very pleased that "young Dr. Horton" has joined the practice, so there will always be continuity with the Horton values and skills.

So glad I was referred to this office after the retirement of our former dentist of 30+ years. Reception staff is very friendly and my hygienist Jenny is outstanding. This office has a very warm inviting family atmosphere. Plan to be a patient here for a very long time! 😊

Rarely do you go to a business where everyone that works there knows you and treats you like family. My family has gone to Horton Family Dental for years and they are professional with an at ease atmosphere. I have tried other dental offices in the past none compare to Horton Family Dental. The hygienist are the best! If your serious about your smile and the health of your teeth this is the place for you!!

I have been a patient of Dr Douglas for 25 years and recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr Ben for a dental exam. The Drs and their staff are so friendly and well trained, it is like visiting old friends. Anytime I have had a problem I have been seen the same day. I would not dream of going to any other dental office in Cedar Rapids. Why look elsewhere when you are already at the best.

We love both Dr. Hortons and the assistants! My eight year old loves to get his teeth cleaned in the office and watch me get mine cleaned. Dr. Ben and Doug answer all his questions and let him stand next to me to watch!
