Best dental experience ever. From the receptionist to Dr. Tu. Everyone was kind, gentle, thorough, and informative. I feel confident in my dental care for sure.

I had not been into a dentist office for routine workfor at least 13 years. So I was pretty nervous when I stepped into the building. After filling out a small questionnaire, I was led to my room by a bright and friendly young woman named Lainey. She really knew how to make one feel welcome. After some x-rays, I met a woman named Jessica, who checked my gums and took pictures of parts of my teeth that needed attention. Again, very friendly and bright, she made me feel like I was in good hands. I then met with Dr. Schminke. I was surprised by how friendly she was. Every other dentist I met was cold and uptight, but she was warm and much more easy to talk to. Finally, I had my teeth fully cleaned by Jessica. In the past, I lamented this to the point where I dreaded being anywhere near the dentist office, however Jessica made it hospitable as possible. I never left the dentist office feeling good before, but the staff there really know how to be proficient and considerate at the same time. Honestly Every single person I interacted with had absolutely superb bedside manner and I would recommend them in an instant. 7 out of 5 easily.

Frankly I can't say enough great things about Dr. Tu and his staff. Have been going to them since '11 referred to us by our daughter-in-law who was in Dental school residency at the UIHC. If anybody would know what a good dental office would look like she would...and sure enough we concur and have encouraged the rest of our family in town to go to Dr. Tu. We do not have dental insurance and so I've always been hesitant to go but Dr. Tu and his staff are careful and respectful in what procedures they do and recommend. His staff are always friendly, smiling, takes time to get know you, remembers things about you...makes you feel like part of the family or community. I hate flossing and am not shy about it...but they accept it have never belittled me for not flossing as I should. His staff are really skilled. Recently, an x-ray showed suspicious spot (barely noticeable to me).... sure enough, Dr. Tu agreed and recommended me to an orthodontist...I resisted because it hadn't caused me any pain...lo and behold it was very infected. Thankfully was treated before it became abscessed. Thank you Mary and Dr. Tu!! Their office administration is also run very efficiently...hardly have to wait, they always follow up on appointments by phone or emails and understanding if you have to cancel or reschedule. Overall, I like the atmosphere that Dr. Tu's has created and it shows in his staff. It's the best dental office I've had in my 60 years. I would highly recommend Design Dental. Thank you!

Moved here from out of state 10 years ago. When it came time for my cleaning, Design Dental came highly recommended. Midway through my first visit, I knew I wouldn’t be looking any further for my dental needs. Very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly staff. Up until recently, biannual cleanings were my only need. However, due to nighttime grinding, I decided to speak with Dr Tu about a night guard (which he had already recommended on several occasions). I cannot express how happy I am that I finally made the decision to proceed. Daily headaches that used to plague me every morning - 80% gone. If you are questioning if this is the place for you, trust me when I say - give it a chance and you won’t regret it.

I've been a patient of Dr. Tu's since 2012. At that time I was one of those folks in their 30s who hadn't been to a dentist in a decade. I was nervous about what damage my neglect had done and what judgment I'd receive from the unfortunate individual who would be working on me...

Well, the good news is that despite a protracted cleaning session, Dr. Tu and his staff were kind, courteous and efficient. I didn't get any lectures or judgment -- apparently there are a lot of people who are in my same situation. I received thorough care (x-rays, gum examination, cleaning, fluoride) The only thing I can say is that first visit is like ripping off a bandage -- the quicker you do it the lesser the pain and you see an end to ongoing stress/worry. Now I am on a regular schedule, with reminders, and get my teeth cleaned twice each year.

Over the years since my initial exam/cleaning, I've usually seen Mary for my routine care. She's excellent - knowledgeable about care, gentle with cleanings, and really fun to talk to (or mumble at). That said, I've also had cleanings and care from a number of other staff in Dr. Tu's office. Dr. Tu is friendly, thorough (x-rays and exams are meticulous) and efficient. One big thing for me is that it's clear Dr. Tu loves his staff in the way he interacts with them and from their loyalty to him. Everyone, to a person, has offered nothing but exceptional care and kindness. From those in scheduling and reception, to the hygienists and other dentists, I've never had a bad experience at Design Dental.

If you've been scared to see a dentist, or are looking for a change in providers, I would highly recommend Design Dental.

Talk about a wonderful staff delivering quality care and personal service! They make the experience so pleasant, remembering details of your family, and genuinely caring about your well being and happiness. All around a great experience and I would recommend this dentist to anyone looking in the area.

I have been going to Dr. Tu since 2008. I needed to have an upper denture at this time. Dr. Tu listened to me and my concerns and treated me with the utmost respect and kindness. I have never went anywhere else. Dr. Tu keeps up with the latest dental procedures. Dr. Tu and Beth have taken very good care of me each and every time I have been seen. The entire staff is so friendly and helpful.
Covid protection is the first priority at this time and I feel very safe and protected in their care! I am now getting a new set of upper dentures and Dr. Tu has just completed more training about how to improve dentures. I am confident I will have a set of dentures that will look real and natural! Dr. Tu, Beth and the entire staff make it so welcoming and the service is top notch and I would never go any where else!!!

This place is beyond amazing! I have hated going to the dentist because it's always been so uncomfortable but with Design Dental it's the complete opposite their staff takes such good care of you and makes you feel like they've known you for years. I had a cavity filled and Dr. Schminke & Avery did such a wonderful job! They truly care about their patients and I HIGHLY recommend going to Design Dental for all of you dental needs.

Great experience overall, staff is attentive, and really appear to care for patients. Wait times are short. Most pleasant experience I've had at the dentist. Shout out to Taylor, she's very friendly and made me smile.

I love Design Dental. My dentist was non judgemental and helped me get back to having regular dentist appointments. They helped me get a referral for wisdom teether removal. I went in about a week ago with tooth pain and they helped me right away and got me in asap. They took care of me and I was feeling better within days!
