Paola Family Dentistry: Travis Howard DDS

I had my first visit to the office this week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My hygienist did an amazing job cleaning my teeth and was very friendly!

I've never felt so comfortable about my biggest insecurity and they are beyond amazing, helpful, and understanding. I would and do recommend them over and over! I always have my kids with me and they're very understanding and helpful when it comes to them. They've always worked around my needs and schedule. Today and tomorrow their office is closed but my invisalign came in today and they called me and had me come pick them up so I didn't have to wait until next week, and she walked me through everything! I know this is lengthy, but I'm honestly blown away by how awesome every single person that works here is.

I drive 43 minutes to see the staff at Paola Family Dentistry (when there are numerous more convenient locations to me in Prairie Village) because the staff has always been consistent. I love getting the same DH (Carissa) at cleanings so I know what to expect. Dr. Howard has performed multiple fillings and has always understood and eased my anxiety about each procedure. Years ago, At their old office, my phone didn't have any service and I like to have my music on while I get wok done... so Dr. Howard gave me his Ipad and even put on the tunes I liked so I could still calmly get the work done and listen to my music. Awesome.

Dr. Travis Howard and his staff are first-rate in the dental field. They are personal, caring, and professional. I have had several dental procedures performed by Dr. Howard and he explained each one in detail and all treatment was pain free. I have worked in the dental field and this is the only office I will go to.

Look nobody likes going to the dentist, but what a great experience! The staff here is honest, knowledgeable, gentle and able to calm my frazzled nerves. (Which is no small feat let me tell ya! Lol) They were totally transparent about the cost of things, and clear about why they were recommending future care. I’ll never go anywhere else again!

I am very scared of the denist so, I was very apprehensive about my visit. I needed a lot of work done and I knew it but I was dreading so much. I have to say that Paola Dentistry was very gentle and very nice during my extremely long appointments. I would recommend them to anyone, they made it a very positive experience. If you need a denist, give them a call: they are very good.

I really try and keep my money in Paola, but not with this dental office. My problem started with their texting service notifying me that my appointment had changed from 8 to 7:45. No problem, except that when I arrived their office doesn’t open until 8am. So here we wait. They opened the doors at 7:55 and then had to do new patient paperwork. I finish with that at 8:03. So frustrating as this could have been done ahead of time. I spoke with a woman who was smug that I thought was the office manger and the only thing she said was that “They try their best”. The receptionist was actually very friendly despite me being upset. In the end I can’t stand the elitist mentality that someone’s time is more valuable than my own. If you want that, this is the dentist office for you.

I am currently disputing issues with this place, unfortunately it has been a nightmare. I went in and the lady that does billing said my insurance starts over in October, I said, no I think it rolls over in January, but she said she was looking at it and it rolls over in October. So if I got all my work done in 2 weeks I could use insurance right away and get my partials in Oct , so we schedule 2 extractions and 6 fillings in one day !!! Just to find out my insurance DOES NOT roll over in oct it rolls in jan like I had said so here I am no teeth to chew my food, my gums and the top of my mouth are all cut up and its very painful TRYING to eat with no teeth to chew food till JANUARY !!!! Then my bill went from over 8-900 down to 380 after a already paid 650 on it, then it shot back up to 571, I call them they tell me oh no its 450, even tho I'm looking at the bill they sent me. Then I start to notice money being taken out of my account by them, without my knowledge of course 228.48 so far they say its a system error, then they said its a pmt plan they set up but didn't tell me they done this. Im fed up and ask to speak with management or owner weird the person is gone for 6 weeks. The Dr was amazing, the girls that help the Dr, were amazing, the lady in billing , NOT impressed with her at all. And just FYI, she never would call me or talk to me, the nice little receptionist has to go back and fourth to get answers that are bogus from this billing lady. I will not go back, ill get my partials elsewhere which is very sad cuz I feel like Dr.Howard would have done an amazing job making my partials. But I urge ppl to keep a very close eye on your dealings there. At this rate with this billing lady, ill be making pmts till im 80. And I can only hope SOMEONE contacts me to make all this nightmare right.

Excellent experience! 2 weeks ago I was in terrible pain and they got me in within 2 hours. They found that I broke my tooth and they did a root canal to fix it right then and there. I went back 2 weeks later to get my crown and I'm very happy with it.
