I have not been to the dentist in a while and was very paranoid when I went in. Dr. Majors and his staff were great. He calmed me and reassured me. Honestly it was the best dental experience Ive had. The whole staff was nice. This was my first time ever being here so it was a really nice first impression. Excited to go back and have them take care of my dental care.

When I switched insurance, I could not visit the Alumni clinic anymore. As soon as I got an insurance again that they accepted, I tried to make an appointment but it takes months to get in. I was put on a wait list for cancellations but they aren't allowed to tell you how far you are on the list. I worked in a medical office and I would tell you how far you were on a call list. Their wait list could be weeks, could be months. I was hoping to stay in order to establish a consistent relationship for our family but there are too many dentists in town for you to wait when you are experiencing discomfort.

Me, my husband, and even some members of his family have been going to Alumni Dental for several years. I switched dentists from Doctor Pleasant because of several horrible experiences I had had there. Dr. Vieth has been very understanding and kind with some of my dental concerns and I have never been in pain with any procedures done at Alumni Dental. ( I even needed a crown!) There was once an insurance issue with X-rays but Alumni took care of it for me without any problems. I really appreciate a dental office that listens to me as a person and cares about my safety and comfort. I have very sensitive teeth and I've never had a problem here, unlike with some previous dentists in Lexington.

I fractured a tooth and needed a crown placed and I can honestly say that this was the best dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Vieth and his assistant Angela were so friendly and thorough. I experienced no pain or sensitivity during or after the procedure. They use the most up to date technology to create the perfect fit for any dental procedure (in my case, a crown). Whether it be for just a cleaning or any dental work, I would recommend Alumni Dental and Dr. Vieth to anyone looking for a personable, talented, and caring dentist in the Lexington area.

I cannot recommend Alumni Dental highly enough. Everyone at the office is friendly and wonderful with my family. We look forward to going to the dentist, which is saying a lot! Dr. Majors is patient and kind, as well as detail oriented--the best possible combination in a dentist.

I have to say, I have always had a great experience with Dr. Majors and his staff, so it makes me sad that I am leaving this review.

I went for a teeth cleaning in August (which is free under my insurance) and as soon as I sat down, I was told to open my mouth for x-rays. I wasn't asked if I wanted/needed them, so I just assumed it was standard operating procedure. Now I am being billed $55.00 for x-rays because my insurance doesn't cover annual x-rays. I will admit I didn't know how the x-rays were covered, but I assumed the staff checked my insurance and knew what they were doing.

I called and talked to the billing department and asked if we could forget it this one time and make a note in my file as to how my insurance handled x-rays so it wouldn't happen in the future. I thought this would be fair since I only scheduled a teeth cleaning which should be covered 100% and because I was scheduled to come back in October for a crown, which was going to cost me $323.00 dollars out of pocket (total cost $1130.00).

The girl I talked to in the billing department said she would ask, and I asked that she please let me know before my appointment in October. I never heard from her, I received the bill in the mail and when I called today she informed me they would not write off the x-rays.

So I have canceled my crown work and I will be looking for a new dentist. The girl in the billing department didn't seem to care.

My closing thoughts are, I scheduled a cleaning, not a cleaning AND x-rays, if they were not included with what I scheduled they should not have done them, especially without telling me that. Also, it makes a great deal of sense to lose out on $1130.00 worth of work and all future work over $55.00.

Again the staff that do the work have always been great in person, but this whole situation has left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

I did my invisalign retainer here and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kopczyk and his staff. They are personable, kind and knowledgeable. I refer all my friends and family here and was referred here myself by my aunt when I moved to Lexington. She has been a satisfied patient for more than 20 years!
