After a very bad experience with a different dentist in a different city, I didn't darken any dentist's door for about 20 years. My wife and kids went to Dr. Hooper and liked him. I needed a dentist to sign off on some paperwork for an overseas deployment so I thought that I'd try Dr. Hooper. I was anticipating problems because the previous dentist had put a crown on one of my teeth and then did a root canal through the crown because of my continued pain. He then told me that all of my fillings had to be removed and replaced and that I needed extensive work for periodontal disease (I suspect that he was trying to use me to pay for his dental school loan). When I saw Dr. Hooper he was surprised that I had gone so long without seeing a dentist. After a thorough examination, he said that my fillings were fine, that I had no cavities and that I didn't have periodontal disease. He signed off on my exam and suggested that I start seeing a dentist regularly. I took his advice and began regular visits to his office because I trusted him. It's now been about 15 years and I've had my teeth cleaned every 6 months. In that time, I think that he filled one cavity and referred me to an oral surgeon to have a tooth pulled. I highly recommend Dr. Hooper. You can trust him! I have found his staff and the other dentists in his office to be friendly and professional.
