Katelynn and Yasmine worked as a team to re-attach my veneer that had come loose, the other dentist who i will not name didn’t have an appt to help me when it came out even though they have a lifetime warranty. I will not hesitate to use Modern Dentistry in the future, they didn’t even charge me for the service, i was blown away. So i scheduled a cleaning in a couple of weeks. Honestly i totally understand why they are held in such high regard. Awesome job guys.

Love Dr. Tingstrom and all the staff! Everyone is so nice, caring and comforting especially Justin. As a person with high anxiety at the dentist he and Dr. Tingstrom always listen to me and make me feel at ease.

Beware of Metairie Modern Dentistry.

The practice looks very appealing and professional, based on its website. But looks can be deceiving.

I went to Metairie Modern Dentistry for a bundle of services, including dental cleaning, partial dentures, and consultation for dental implants. I was given an estimate on costs, and paid the total price of partial dentures up-front. During the first treatment, I told the hygenist that I was uncomfortable, and she said that on the next treatment we could use nitrous oxide. Well, at the start of the second treatment, a hygenist rolled into the room a large, rusty old nitrous oxide tank. She was clearly having trouble handling the machine; I’m a retired medical professional and I knew something was not right because she was hesitant about using the equipment. I asked her about it, and ultimately, I refused the nitrous oxide treatment. I went forward with the procedure, and it was painful–and I told the hygenist.

My next visit was the final straw. I arrived at the office on time for an extraction, but waited almost two hours before Dr. Joshua Brandner showed up in the room. A nurse or nurse assistant tried several times to get an IV started in my arm and hands, and I developed a hematoma on my right hand. It was obvious that the nurse or nurse assistant lacked basic medical training. While the needle was sticking in my hand, the hematoma grew. Dr. Bradner had to tell the nurse or nurse assistant that, whenever you do a stick and try to remove the needle, always apply pressure; these are very basic things. The needle was hanging. Dr. Bradner asked if he could try one more time, and I said: “No. I’m not a guinea pig. You can’t stick me again.” I was so uncomfortable that I stopped the procedure and left the office. The office, by the way, was cold; I asked for a blanket, but was given someone’s lab coat and was told by staff that all of the office’s blankets were dirty.

Nearly two months later, Metairie Modern Dentistry has filed only some of the insurance claims–and the claims are not accurate.

I’ve written to Medical Modern Dentistry about their service and asked that they issue a refund for all money paid. I’ve asked when claims to my insurer would be filed. I’ve also asked the practice – and Dr. Scipione directly– for the partial denture that I paid for. But so far, they’ve failed to respond.

I’ve filed a complaint with the Louisiana State Board of Dentistry.

Here’s the bottom line: Beware of Metairie Modern Dentistry. The practice is unprofessional and jeopardizes the health of patients.

I cannot say enough about how amazing the whole team at this place is. I am terrified of the dentist and, because many people have fears of the dentist, I have never been taken seriously in the past. Once I turned 18, I put off going to the dentist for almost 6 years because of this fear. Finally, I turned to Metairie Modern Dentistry. The first appointment Dr. Scipione talked with me about my fear in detail, so he would know which parts I was scared of. The whole process of my cleaning was explained and they were gentle and thorough. I turned out having to have deep cleaning, so I have been there twice now for treatment and each time was equally awesome.

I also just got my wisdom teeth out, done by an oral surgeon they contract with, and I've had a lot of pain afterwards and a smidge of dry socket. I went back to them TWICE to have it checked, because I'm paranoid, and each time they welcomed me in and didn't make me feel silly for continuing to have them check it.

This place seriously cares about you and remembers you. I am so glad I took a chance on them!!

Dr.Scipione is awesome! I normally have extreme anxiety about getting dental work done but had no pain after my fillings were completed. I will definitely be back soon for more needed dental work!

The entire staff at Metairie Modern Dentistry was exceptionally professional and caring. I am a person who is very scared of the dentist, from a past bad experience.

And I didn't feel pain. Dr. Scip is really good at what he does. Couldn't believe what a good job he did. If you have fear of the dentist, these are the pros for you.

Extremely friendly staff and exceptionally clean and welcoming office. Everyone was highly professional and accommodating. I have a big dentist phobia to begin with and they treated me with respect and a gentle touch. The office manager was very transparent about cost and payment options and what to expect. Will definitely return.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Colburn since our undergrad at Our Lady of Holy Cross. She totally took into account I was getting braces put on and made sure my teeth and gums were prepared for two year commitment. The staff was also amazing and very helpful. Definitely a place I'd recommend to family and friends.

Very professional, costs of any extra treatment were explained clearly in advance and Metairie Modern Dentistry was able to show me whether each item would or would not be covered by my insurance. No surprise charges later. Great experience.

Metairie Modern Dentistry sent my bill for $95 to a collections agency even though I provided with the exact insurance documents they initially requested. Instead of trying to contact me by phone or email, they sent my bill to a collection agency thereby docking my impeccable credit score, all unknown to me until I receive the collection agency bill in the mail.

Their own imcompectence in asking for the correct documents caused this to happen. Patients are just a dollar sign to these people. No customer service will be found here.
