Uptown Dental

I have been coming to Uptown Dental for several years for general care and have been pleased with the services and the prices. When I needed to have a crown done, Dr. Vu took great care of me. I was a bit nervous as this was my 1st crown, but all of the staff - from reception to hygienist and especially Dr. Vu - really made me feel comfortable with the process. I honestly felt like Dr. Vu took his time and really cared about making sure the crown was an exact fit (and was concerned with my comfort at all times during the procedure). I was surprised and very happy to find that in as little as less then 2 days most pain and sensitivity was nonexistent. I don't normally write reviews but felt like Uptown Dental and Dr. Vu were worth it. Thanks!

2015: Im blessed to have found Dr. Vu. Hes never cut corners on my treatment plan, and gone to extensive measures to make sure my dental work was done properly. Many grueling hours..months spent on fixing my teeth, and Dr. Vu and his staff have been kind through my tough journey. If I ever moved out of the state, I would travel back to Dr. Vu for my dental care in a heartbeat. Some dentists ignored important work that needed to be done! Work Ive had done: extractions, Fillings, reconstruction of some teeth, and soon to be implants. Smooth sailing!!! Thanks Dr. Vu and staff....Kristy Rincon

It seems a little odd to give a dentist or dental office a 5-star rating, indicating that I enjoyed my time there. Let me explain why I find it so easy to do so in this case:

I have a significant history of dental/orthodontic/endodontic issues, and as a result have spent a lot of time with many different dental professionals. And over the years, I've seen the same pattern in the dental "industry" that I've seen in others--a movement away from customer service and toward mass, assembly line care that gets the maximum number of patients in and out as quickly as possible.

Uptown Dental, and in particular Dr. Vu and his staff, are different! From my first visit, I was astonished at the level of care provided. My wife and I were planning a weekend away (rare for us in light of our busy work schedules). And as it happened, I developed an abscess that was causing me great pain just two days before our scheduled departure. Uptown Dental's reception staff worked hard to fit me in for an appointment. And after meeting Dr. Vu for the first time that day, he quickly but carefully diagnosed the issue. The bad news: the abscess had caused significant bone loss in my jaw, and I needed a root canal to correct the problem. The good news: about an hour-and-a-half later, I was leaving Uptown Dental, procedure complete and pain free.

I would have expected that much from any dentist. So, what made that visit to Dr. Vu stand out in my memory? Before I left his office, Dr. Vu provided me with an emergency contact phone number, letting me know that he didn't want my dental issue to ruin my weekend away with my wife. He said that I could call, even after hours if I had pain or increased swelling, and that he would do whatever was necessary see to it that I was made comfortable.

In fact, the root canal was so effective that a later x-ray showed that the abscess had closed and the bone damage in my jaw had begun to reverse. Needless to say, I have continued to CHOOSE Uptown Dental, and have consistently found Dr. Vu and his team to provide excellent care. Clearly, service is a priority. They take time to explain my issues, options, and the specific care they'd recommend. And they work hard to reduce any anxiety I may be feeling, and to make me physically comfortable during treatment.

My wife and children have also begun seeing Dr. Vu for their regular check-ups and other dental care. And we've all had the same, consistent high-end experience. I have also shared my experience openly with friends, family, and co-workers whenever I've had a chance. And I would recommend Dr. Vu and Uptown Dental to anyone in the Albert Lea, Minnesota area without reservation!

Uptown Dental is far and away the best dental office I've been to. I have been a patient of Uptown Dental for over 2 years and their service and expertise is awesome!!! Dr. Vu is a wonderful dentist and their office always has the most current equipment and procedures to offer. From dental implant to braces, and even Botox treatment, I was able to get everything done here without the need to go out of town to see a specialist. I have always felt that I'm in great hands there and have recommended Uptown Dental to all my families and friends.

I have an anxiety disorder and find going to the dentist extremely difficult. The kind people here literally held my hand while I was getting a tooth extraction. I think it's great the dentist and nurses were willing to take their time to make me feel comfortable.

I would never recommend going to Uptown Dental. While they do accept insurance that other dental offices in Albert Lea don't accept. I have had more of a negative experience and would rather drive further to get the care that I know we deserve. Of course when I wrote my first review I received a letter from them "apologizing" and asking me to take my review down. It is my right to have my opinion and in my opinion they have wronged my daughter!

Great Dentist but their policies are something else. If you have dental insurance kinda turns into a hassle. Pay for your dental work up front. Then if you have a credit, you need to ask for a refund. That can take 4-8+ weeks to get a refund. They have had the payment from the insurance Co. now for 4 weeks and still no courtesy benefit check...

Dr. Hung T.Vu is a very caring, compassionate dentist, and he helped me with all my dental problems with no pain and my appointments were gotten as needed and on time. I would highly recommend him to my family and friends.Thank-you for the new smile.

Had a tooth pulled, ended up with MRSA, Still fighting this infection... Been out of work for 3 weeks, 3 days in the Hospital in St. Peter MN, been at home since. TOTAL LOST REVINUE $16,479.54 So far... And as it stands now I'm home for another 10 days, so 31 days out dealing with this infection add another $7,847.40 on that total above... $24,326.94 in lost revinue, So who do I contact? I guess I will be calling my attorney, to see what I can do...

Dr. Hung is a great dentist. My 6 year old needed a baby root canal. He put her at ease and she looks forward to going to the dentist now. The staff is amazing and great with children!
