My family & I have been going to the London Road location of Port City Dental (and previously Dr. Steve L’Abbe’s practice) since we moved to the Twin Ports over 20 years ago. Our family has always received good care there.
Earlier this week, I started experiencing severe dental pain that was not improving with time or over the counter treatments. I called Port City Dental yesterday and they told me I could be seen today at the Medical Arts location. From the parking to checkout, my experience was as smooth as could be. The front desk staff was welcoming, kind and efficient, as were the hygienist and Dr. Ethan Brekke.
The beautiful view of the Duluth Harbor from the dental chair assisted in easing my anxiety as well. After X-rays and an exam, I was informed of the issue and the treatment options. My questions were answered and I left the office with a plan.
I’m grateful that I was able to be seen so soon, especially before Thanksgiving.
I appreciate Dr. Brekke and the entire Port City Dental team for the dental care they provide.

I have been going to Port City Dental since they opened. I have had excellent service at both the London Road Office and at the Medical Arts Building.
The staff at both of these offices are welcoming and professional; be it the clerical staff, dental assistants, hygienists, or dentists.
Whenever I've had an emergency dental issue, they've always squeezed me in their schedule to get it fixed,. This is something I really appreciate.

My dentists have been Dr. Brekke and Dr. Hammer. Straightforward, professional work and action plans from both. I moved here 3 years ago and have been completely happy with this dental practice,and 2 oral surgeons to whom they referred me.

An aura of calm pervades the office. Everyone is friendly. With good views of the harbor and a comfortable chair (ask for a pillow for your neck) , it’s just about as healing, peaceful, and painless as a massage! My 3 visit per year schedule keeps my 72 year old teeth healthy and best of all, I’m not afraid to smile!
