LoPour & Associates DDS Smiles by Design Family & Cosmetic Dentistry

It saddens me to write this however I have to share my experience with this dental services provider. I recently had a crown that Dr. Lopour do for me completely pop off while I was eating a piece of candy that otherwise should have stayed on. I get there, assess the situation with his staff and him, a financial person comes in to tell me that it is going to cost me over $300 for him to fix something that he did 3 years ago and has now failed. I previously had other crowns done by another dentist in San Diego that had stood the test of time being close to over 25 years. BIG second part to this, I had another crown crack into 3 pieces that he and his team did and when I told him about it at this last appointment, some how that was NOT showing in my records. How convenient!! I was utterly and completed insulted and will never recommend this practice. EVER!

Terrible customer service!

Dr. Montgomery retired and merged his business with Dr. LoPour. What a shame! The Greg LoPour / Smiles By Design Albuquerque office is fancy with modern furniture, "free" refreshments and TVs everywhere. I thought it was really cool until I got their outrageous bill. Even though I had good dental insurance I had to pay a lot of extra money for a simple cleaning with x-rays. They will tell you insurance covers the charges but it doesn't cover all of the charges. To make matters worse, they hold your dental records hostage until you pay all their exorbitant fees, which is a HIPAA violation. After I paid my bill in full I'm still waiting for all of my records. Needless to say, I found a new dentist without the "free" lattes.

If your goal is to be entertained when you visit the dentist this might be the place for you. On the other hand, if your focus is good dentistry at affordable rates you should look elsewhere.

This is my family's third year with Dr. Greg LoPour. He is the most professional dentist I have ever been to- his office and staff are so far beyond other dentists it is like night and day. His state of the art office combined with Dr. LoPour's credentials and his more than 20 years of experience make us feel relaxed and peaceful while in the dentist chair. The Idea that my kids have the opportunity to starT their dental care with a dentist of this caliber is amazing and this is what I want for my kids. Cutting edge dental technology along with a team of hygienists and staff members that give individualized attention and compassion makes for an experience that is far beyond what I ever expected to find.

Dr. LoPour and his entire staff are top rate. From the initial intake, through the diagnostic and procedure, and including recovery, Dr. LoPour and his staff are 100% committed to providing the best level of service in the industry. I highly recommend Dr. LoPour for all your dental needs.

This is the classiest, most professional dentist office I’ve been to. From the friendly staff to the fresh baked bread to the keurigs to the personal tv channels or radio station to the warm towel given to you on a plate when you’re done... top notch. Seriously like flying first class in the world of dentistry.

I saw Dr LoPour in 2009 and previous. He said I had 9 cavities, which I thought was extreme being that I brushed and flossed regularly. I asked him if some of the cavities might just be crevices that he's just filling to protect, because I know of Dentists doing sealants as a protective measure, and he said, no, they are all cavities. Well, I didn't go back out of fear of the dentist from a previous bad experience. I recently got up my courage with a renewed commitment to take care of my teeth. I saw Dr. Joanna Romo, and she said I had no cavities! That's right, none. I was happily shocked. How could one dentist say 9, and another 7 years later say none. I just got a second opinion today with Dr. Button, and he said no cavities! I was born and raised in ABQ, went to Valley HS. This is the truth. I thought maybe they mixed up my exrays with someone else's, but Dr. LoPour said the same thing 2 years prior, fortunately I was too scared to have the 9 fillings. Did my teeth heal over those 9 years? Was I lied to? Be careful, get 2nd opinions!

I am honored and blessed to know Dr. LoPour. I know him as my doctor, as an advocate, and as a friend. Every time I visit his office, his professionalism and expertise is beyond comparison.

I also have the blessing of knowing him outside of his office. Every year, he and his wife dedicate their time and attention to Longfellow’s elementary students. They graciously volunteer at our Science Fair as judges and at our annual talent show. Neither events would be the same without them.

I’ve learned so much from him and I look forward to all future experiences.

The professionalism of the staff and Dr. Lopour is not something you will find anywhere else. At Lopour & Associates it is all about patient care and customer service. There is not another dentist in the world like Dr. Lopour and there is no other office that will give you the quality of care that Lopour and associates provides.

Dr Lopour made a mistake when he re-cimented a overlay and created constant pain. When I told him of this problem and asked what he was proposing to do, he essentially bullied me and didn't take any resposibility. I would caution anyone against choosing him as a dentist.
