With this COVID-19, I was leery about going to the dentist at all. The office was clean and inviting, the service was thorough and professional, staff was courteous and attentive. Dr. Ahghar makes you feel comfortable.

Most people wouldn't say they "love" going to the dentist, but these people are so professional and kind. I like that the dentist talks to me and eases any discomfort. They are patient and understanding. Thank you all!

I’ve had trouble with a certain tooth for years. Hearing all the great things about this place, I went in with an open mind to try and get some help. Everything was fine the first time I went in for initially was just supposed to be a cleaning but they ended up taking an X-ray of the tooth that was hurting and explained to me that she could take out the filling I had and replace it with a different material that they use. And that I also had a cavity she could take care of as well at a later time. So I thought, “Okay cool, they are on it.” Fast forward to the day I was supposed to get my filling taken care of, the tooth that I have had issues with for the past 2 years but have dealt with the sensitivity, (tooth number 14) I went in they numb me up and starting working on what I thought was #14. She finishes and says, “Ok, I went ahead and took care of #15 the one with the cavity because that could be causing pain to #14. (The cavity was recent, there was no additional pain throughout the 2 years I dealt with the pain) she didn’t even work on the tooth that was hurting nor did I even know she was going to work on 15 at that time and day. So I was irritated and said I came to get this #14 fixed that’s what I want. After a little argument about what was ethical and what not, she got irritated with me and said, “So you want me to do #14?” I said, “Yes, that’s what I came for.” She said ok and agreed to do it, she was not happy about it and you could tell. She said someone would follow up in a couple days and see how it felt. Went to pay and then the lady out front says, “you never had xrays when do you want to schedule those?” I thought, that’s the first thing every dentist does especially with new patients. I told her they could wait till my next cleaning. 30 minutes after I leave I get a phone call (a follow up) asking if my tooth felt better, I was like, “I literally just left your office and my mouth is still numb, I can’t feel anything” she said so is it better?? I was like “IDK, it’s numb!!!” Never heard back from them. My tooth has felt worse since. I didn’t want to call or go back in because this is literally why I didn’t go to a dentist for 2 years. I decided to call this morning and complain that it hurt because everyone is still having these amazing stories about this place so I deserve mine. They get me in at noon, but after the issue with the lady last time I requested that the guy see me and check out my filling because on top of the pain I feel a gas that food now gets stuck in. I wanted his opinion to make sure work was done right, since she did do it after you could tell she was irritated. I go in and first thing they want me to do is sign a consent form. (Which I didn’t do last time.) They take me back l, take another X-ray of the tooth, and explain that the lady will be taking a look at my tooth and I told them I requested the guy and they were like we don’t do that hear. So I’m irritated and I haven’t even seen the dentist. And let me tell you, she came in full of attitude. I gave her the floor and she told me somehow my tooth got worse from the last time and now I need to be referred to get a root canal because it looks like I have an infection. She talked to me like I was stupid because of the fact that I told her I didn’t feel the filling was done right and all of a sudden her assistant was typing away making sure she had all of the conversation noted. She let me know that she can give me my $120 back because that’s nothing to her and if it’ll make me happy she will do so. I told her it isn’t about the money it’s about my damn tooth still hurting and now it’s worse after she was the last one to work on it. I got up out of the chair and walked out. It was frustrating that this doctor that we trust to take care of things can try and belittle a patient so much. I went back about 20 minutes later to request all documentation, treatment plans, and notes. The lady told me it was going to take 3 days because she’s busy and has other things she has to take care of. Very upset.

Everyone I interacted with was friendly and knowledgeable. They all complimented me on how well I take care of my teeth. 👍🏻 My advice to everyone, do yourself a favor and get an electric toothbrush! Your cleanings will be so fast!

I had a crown with a cracked tooth underneath it and went in to see Dr. Ahghar. I was told that I would not remember the procedure after I was given meds. I was completely awake during the procedure, for all of the hammering & chiseling he proceeded to do on my lower jaw.
About 8 weeks later I was still experiencing pain and was told that ‘it’s normal and it sometimes takes 3-6 months to heal.’
About two weeks later - now about 2 1/2 months after the initial procedure - I got an abscess, so I called in and Dr. Ahghar told me to ‘keep rinsing with salt water’ even when I reported the abscess, lots of pain, and asked if I should take antibiotics.
After that conversation, I called and spoke with another dentist, described my issues, and was told to immediately start on the antibiotics. I was also told to go back to Carabelli and have another full set of xrays done. This is when bone started coming out where the tooth was. I went in and had xrays done and they did a limited view shot and I asked if they should do another to make sure they see all the pieces. I was told it was fine.
Dr. Ahghar removed several pieces and told me that ‘The body usually will absorb the pieces of bone and since I was a big guy it didn’t do it for some reason.’ REALLY?! Your body ‘absorbs’ bone. And it’s because I’m a big guy? 😳
Needless to say several more fragments have come out since then. The surgery was in late April. As of right now 8/5/2020, going on 5 months later, there is a piece of bone working itself out of my gum and the whole lower back jaw is still sore.
I have not called them back because why would I? I have had a horrible experience with Dr. Ahghar and I will never recommend this practice. Maybe the other Dr. is competent, I can not speak on her.

Ana was five stars and I’ve definitely got “lab coat” syndrome. Gentle, patient, thorough! Even endured my horror stories of dentistry in the "old days". -Mike Huckabee
