Dr. Montgomery, Aylin, his dental assistant, and Kasey, the office manager, are all top notch!! Very courteous and very professional. They get the job done in a very nice way. I highly recommend Santa Fe Dentist Office for your dental needs.

I came into this office as a new patient and for my semi annual teeth cleaning, purely because they were able to get me on schedule so quickly whereas my first choices were booked out for a couple months or more. At first sight, I was very impressed by the large and well put together facility. However it didn’t take long for the red flags to begin revealing themselves. Firstly, there were many spaces within the facility which wasn’t a concern but as I was taken to my room, I noticed that there were few exployees and they seemed to be constantly running around serving different purposes. There wasn’t a hygienist on site and many of employees served different roles that I were out of there scope. An example is the receptionist also serves as a scriber and the x ray tec also cleaned my teeth. The tec explained to me how much of the policies and practices devoted away from much of what she was taught in school such as taking 30 minutes to properly clean teethe whereas at this office they don’t want you to spend anymore than 5 minutes cleaning patient’s teeth. I asked her is she believed this to result in a decrease quality and she hesitantly admitted it does exactly that. Next, when the dentist came to examine my teeth, she didn’t appeared to be very happy, so I asked her if this was her practice and she humorously laughed it off and explained to me that she is only an employee and that the owner or owners are not actually physicians but a corporation aka investors. This offered some context to the early red flags, as the business model is more tailored after that of a corporation that sees no issue with sacrificing quality for quantity.

Before beginning a exam, I was given a pair of sunglasses to protect my eyes from the strong medical lights which was not an issue and a common practice. In getting ready to put them on, I noticed how filthy they were full of oil and some other gunk I don’t wanna begin to try to figure out. I kindly asked that they clean the sunglasses, which was more than reasonable on my part especially considering that we’ve been in a health pandemic for more than a year. She obliged and we moved on, and the examination proceeded. Things felt extremely rushed and it didn’t take long for my mouth to be filled with blood from the doctor being rough with her tools. I turned away and expressed my pains several times but ultimately bit my tongue in anticipation that it would be over soon. Immediately after, the doctor left and the x ray tec came back to begin cleaning my teethe. Typically, before the cleaning begins, plaque and tarter is removed to assure that the cleaning and flossing can be performed in an efficient and practical manner. This is not the case at this office, and I explained to the tec and dentist that it should be done before and they agreed however proceeded with their practice. The dentist appeared to take some offense to this concern and asked me if I wished to proceed after I had already signed and agreed for payment for the cleaning. I obviously want to get the service I already payed for so I reluctantly gave her permission to finish the cleaning. Once after getting my teethe cleaned, the dentist began removing plaque and tart which she was once again rushing through and discouragingly rough. As I suspected there was considerable build up that was removed aggressively and got stuck between my teethe after they had already cleaned and flossed. Finally, I finished everything and explained to the dentist my concerns listed above and she simply responded “yeah this place isn’t for everyone” and also implied that she questioned if it’s right for her. Another common practice that I had been accustomed to at other dental offices is to receive mouth wash following a cleaning. They were so quick to escort me out of the facility to bring in the next patient that they didn’t offer any mouth wash. I asked for some and they gave me a cup of mouthwash to walk out with. They didn’t give me a tooth brush, floss or that bag that most dentists give their patients upon completing an exam and cleaning.

Really, really wonderful experience here. Everyone was kind, considerate, prompt, and just generally created a very positive office environment (which is especially important because going to the dentist is never exactly fun).

I recently had an appointment for my 6mos cleaning. I may be wrong but it seems like they attempt to do x-rays once a year which seems loke overkill to me. I refused the xrays this time and they said I would HAVE to do at my next appt.
After I was taken to a room for my cleaning I waited for about half an hour alone before one of the nice young ladies came and told me the hygenist was on vacation and the doctor would be in soon for the cleaning. She told me she would polish my teeth while he finished with another patient. Thought it was kinda backwards but agreed as I had a function to get to. After she finished I waited about 20 more min.
Finally the doctor came in and I thought he would begin the cleaning. NOPE! He examined my teeth and told me I had the beginnings of gingivitis and require a deep cleaning. He than sent Perla in to let me know a deep cleaning will cost $700 out of pocket. I told her that was not in the budget right now. She than told me if I refused the service at this time my insurance would not cover it for the next 12 or 15 mos. I. still told her no. She suggested we go upfront to schedule my cleaning for another day. By this time it was after 5 I had been there since 4 and basically got my teeth polished. I was fuming! I did not have time to take off another hour for them to do what they should have done THAT day!
On my very 1st visit 3yrs prior they insisted I needed a filling. I did not get the filling done because at that time I didn't have money. 2 additional xrays later the filling has never been seen of or addressed again. They are a corporation and not a local business. They are in the business to upsell. I still have not called my insurance to find out if tje cleaning will be covered or if the polish was passed off as a full cleaning. NEVER going back nor recommending this place to anyone!!!

Went in for six month cleaning. Unprofessional staff at front desk. Thought ok, they are having a bad day. Got a good, painless cleaning from new dental assistant and was told dentist will be in to check my teeth. After waiting a half hour someone came in to see me to say new dentist had an emergency and can’t see me today, can I come back? I asked where is dr. Montgomery and she said he went back to school. No professionalism whatsoever. I should have been notified somehow, either by letter or at least someone in the office before appointment. Also, two weeks ago my husband lost a filling and called the office. They could not see him for two weeks, and he has pain. How bad is this group of people?!

I just moved to the area and had some pain on a bottom tooth. Since this office is close to my house I booked an appt. I'm glad I did! Turns out I needed a root canal. Dr Montgomery is a very competent dentist. You won't be disappointed going here. The staff is very friendly too!
I now have a dentist I'll be going to on a regular basis for my 6 month checkups and cleanings.

Amazing place!! We did a walk in for my Mom whom was experiencing so much pain on her wisdom tooth. The dentist and staff jumped into action and helped out my Mom with her pain. For doing a walk in we waited not even 5 min. Receptionist Erica is awesome at what she does. She is very professional and kind. I also believe she should get a raise.:)

Originally I gave them 1 star, because on their website shows they are open on Saturday till 1 pm, I went there and there wasn't anybody there, turned out they are open every other Saturday.
Finally I went in today to do a deep cleaning.
Dr. Montgomery, Ari (hygenist) and the front desk Erika were good.
They explained everything really detail and Ari let me know what she was doing every step of the way. Because I'm super nervous going to the dentist.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. I show up to what was supposed to my first appointment and it takes literally 10 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to greet me and check me in for my appointment. The lady that finally comes in to check me in is in bad mood and extremely passive to begin with. She presents herself to be very unprofessional. No "hello" and no "sorry for the wait." Then, she proceeds to tell me that my insurance isn't processing and tries to work on it. So I sit and wait. She then calls me up and tells me it's not still not processing. She has no solution. So I finally decided to leave when I should've done that within the first 5 minutes of not being greeted. She didn't apologize for any inconvenience or wasting my time. I didn't even bother trying to speak to a supervisor because this place is obviously incapable of helping their patients. Truly disappointed. Has the potential to be a nice place if they hired better employees.
