The USB bitewing they use here has a plastic cover which seems thinner and softer than other places I've been, with much less cutting into or scratching of gums or the roof of the mouth.
Cleaning went very smoothly, hygienist was careful, attentive, and probably caused the least trauma I've had with a professional flossing job in years.
