Contemporary Family Dentistry

I'll be the first to tell you, like most of us, I have always hated going to the dentist. Not anymore (seriously!) Jessica Henderson is absolutely one of the sweetest people, and the nicest dentist I have ever met! She did some amazing work when I had a dental emergency (there was zero judgment from her or they hygienist that I hadn't seen a dentist in a while). She did such an amazing job, and she numbed up my mouth without pain!! Seriously, she knows her stuff. So I decided to establish care with her as my primary dentist! I highly recommend her and her staff to all my friends. Everyone is kind, friendly, and very easy to communicate with.

Really helpful sweet staff Sonia and Susan! Made me truly feel like I was in my own home little town were I grew up. This is a rare to find these days. Had wonderful professional care from Ashley and Jennifer. I was rushing out the door to catch another appointment for work and they make it so I could really make it on time but not compromising their quality care. I highly recommend establishing care here!

With so many dentists in Bend to chose from please don't waste your time here. I had a new patient exam and teeth cleaning that needs to be redone. The teeth cleaning took all of about 20 min (incomplete) and x-rays need to be repeated due to poor quality and not a complete set. Absolute waste of time and money. I now need to go to a new/competent dentist to have a proper cleaning and complete set of x-rays.

I found the dental hygienist friendly, although incompetent. The x-ray tech must have been new (at least I hope she was new so she had an excuse). She had no clue what she was doing and had to repeat images. A bit frustrating and annoying.

Dr Henderson was brash, rude and aggressive. She spoke to me like I was deaf and 5 years old. Her beside manner needs a lot of work, to say the least. I found it very rude when she boldly stated (from across the room) I had 4 fillings that were old (I have NEVER had a filling). The hygienist had too apologize for her statement and explain what she was looking at were teeth sealants, not fillings. She also carried on about how i needed a mouth guard and if I didn't wear one I would eventually need dentures and/or would develop cavities.

I was told I have a cavity and need a filling ASAP. Can't wait to get a second opinion as I don't believe I have a cavity. She showed me a picture and it looks like a bit of staining.

Please do yourself a favor and read ALL reviews. Seems all negative reviews are in sync. I will be moving myself and my family to a competent and honest dental practice.

I was hesitant to go to a dentist for a an unreasonable fear of embarrassment concerning how bad my teeth are. I haven't been to a dentist in a long while due to various reasons. From the moment I sent my online form in Contemporary was incredible with their communication. They have such friendly and welcoming staff. The visit was so easy and straightforward I kept waiting for a shoe to drop and my fears to be validated. That never happened, I felt comfortable and not talked down to. From explaining why I should be taking better care of my teeth, to price breakdowns on procedures. Everyone person made me feel like I'd been coming to this place for years. Great first experience.

As a child I had a horrific experience and find myself not just anxiety ridden but absolutely fearful of dentists. Today Dr. Jessica Henderson was my hero, her professionalism, honesty, and kindness was exactly what I needed. She gave me ALL of my options before beginning a very difficult procedure- it didn’t scare her away in fact she literally saved my tooth! I cracked it in half! It would have been easy for her to say get a root canal but instead she gave me honest real answers and I chose the procedure! So glad I did ! She not only saved me an important tooth but was gentle in every detail. Very informative throughout the procedure! I felt not only well taken care of, I felt like royalty. She doesn’t take the easy way out she is compassionate and is solid in her wisdom of Dental care! The staff made me feel like we were just family that has always belonged. It takes a caring dentist to truly listen and give you options! Take it or leave it but hands down the BEST. Clean, affordable, honest and holds her self and her staff to high standards!!! Come in a scaredy-cat and leave feeling like a family or friend! I will be be back! PS this procedure was not for weenies! She resurrected my tooth I should have lost!! I am the owner of a very special crown!

I have went from dental nightmare to a full 180 turn around over the last 5 years working with Dr Henderson, we have had to do major oral surgeries as well as bone graphs and root canals and everything in between and although it was a long road and a lot of work we made it to the other side and my smile and my teeth are the best they have ever been in my life and that is thanks to the guidance and plan rolled out my Dr Henderson and her team.

I don’t not have enough room on this review page to list my true appreciation for everything she’s done. 10/10 recommend.

Dr. Jessica and her team have always had my best interests at heart when it comes to the overall care and health of my teeth! Best in Bend!! I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve been a patient of Contemporary Family Dentistry going on 6 years now.

Dr. Jessica is one of my favorite people in Bend, EVER! I was rejected across town with my insurance multiple times, with my 50 year old teeth, was not hopeful walking in, and she accepted me as a new patient! All my “fancy complicated Portland expensive dental friends” now go to her, after sharing my experience. Dr. Jessica and her hygienists are 110% on it! She offered suggestions, a plan, in detail, from dating advice, delivered bad dental news and good, and the whole time my gut is laughing, knowing I’m welcome, appreciated, am taken care of, and she is quick as a mosquito on the Fall River in August…! She included anti aging treatments, fixed my broken parts that we’re hiding:) I am still laughing! Love that girl and her team!

I would give zero stars but the dental hygienists were very nice and friendly. The dentist was brash, condescending, and extremely harsh. I was not told that she would be sticking a needle in my gums to numb me, she just did it.I am also pregnant & feeling pretty vulnerable already & she just made it so much worse. Also, I asked what kind of fillings they were doing and the hygienist told me “they are white” and couldn’t give me a straight answer about them having BPA in them. I have had some pretty traumatic experiences at the dentist and this was top 3. And I just had a tiny filling. She also came in after MY cleaning to lecture me about my 1.5 year old son and telling me what to feed him & not feed him…… at MY appointment. He was not even there, and she is not his dentist. It felt pretty bizarre. Weirdest experience I’ve had at the dentist. I will not be going back.

Great experience at Contemporary Family Dentistry today. Sonja did a great job cleaning my teeth then Dr. Henderson did a quick checkup. Looking forward to my next teeth cleaning. :)
