Living in central VA for more than a decade, as a healthcare practitioner, I had the benefit of working with, working for, and being a patient of some world class healthcare practices. Zielinski Family dentistry is on par with those facilities and practitioners. Rare for this area. From the very first moment that I entered this practice, extremely apprehensive from previous bad experiences, the dentist has not been my friend, I was put at ease by the friendly, empathetic and genuine nature of everyone that I encountered, from the girls behind the reception desk to all those working in the back. I’m not going to mention names or titles. I don’t want to forget or misidentify anyone.
At my initial meeting with Dr. Henry, I became part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. Interdisciplinary treatment team is a phrase that gets tossed around a lot, but usually doesn’t mean much. It does here. After giving a history and having an exam and x-rays, Dr. Zielinski spoke of some of my options and asked for some time to put together what he felt would be the best treatment plan for me. For me. Not him – me. His staff is free to make suggestions and the final verdict, comes down to the culmination of what I think will work for me. There’s a lot of behind the scenes work that goes into this. And it is work, to formulate a plan that’s best for the patient and then get the patient to understand why.
The one thing I want everyone who reads this to take away from it is this: From the time I enter the reception area to the time I leave, each and everyone of the staff make me feel like I’m their only patient. And it’s not an act. It’s very genuine.
