First Choice Dental Care

Dentist are nice but constantly try to upsell you on work that is not needed and their clerk/billing department are incompetent and lazy at best. They refused my wife a normal cleaning because they wanted to do a deep clean, and basically forced us to get the work done since closest time with another provider was 8 months out, even though they told her prior it was just a recommendation they had during an initial evaluation/new patient package. I went to do the same evaluation new patient package and they did a descaling, no cleaning even though that is what I said I was there for and wanted since I was paying out of pocket, and paid $130 for them to scrap my teeth and do no cleaning when the package I was wanting was $80.
Once we had insurance, we provided them our account info prior to an appointment so we would know if in network. They told us it looked good and that they'd call if anything came up. I asked at the front that everything would be covered by insurance, and told yup. My appointment came and went with no issue. That is until a month later when they tell me I owe $62 because they are actually out of network, even though I asked when I was there and told I was good. My wife had done the deep cleaning in between this period of time and we were told then we were in network as well. Come now to find out the way they billed her was out of network.

Here is the thing, they have six (6) in network dentist out of that facility, they have this info ahead of time with our insurance policy and decided to give us the one (1) dentist not in network? How is this not caught or brought to our attention weeks/months in advanced or have us scheduled with another dentist. Also, the one dentist out of network, Jay, was on the billing claim they submitted for my wife's dental work, but he was not even the one who saw or worked on her. This matters to the way we were billed, and thus we paid more for that procedure at around 15-20%. This is one of the worst dental facilities we have gone to and honestly, they seem so shady and dishonorable. I would not recommend.

now my issue with one of the clerks in the billing department.
I made a call to talk to schedule an appointment and they told us about the $62 dollars but we got disconnected, called back and got the same person, Amy we believe her name was, mentioned the $62 balance and that they wouldn't schedule my wife if we didn't pay that first, and she said we must've talked with someone else because she didn't know. She said we needed to contact the billing department, but they were closed and if we wanted them to call us Monday. I said this was the same number and option chosen less than a minute prior. She said "well, maybe you did talk to someone. sometimes they are open, sometimes they are closed." I told her if someone gave us that info, she should have access or ability to forward use to someone to talk about it since , you know, she is in the billing department or at least answering on their behalf and someone (giving benefit of the doubt this is someone else) was able to give use that info just a moment prior. She told me she couldn't do anything, no access. I ask, so a receptionist who doesn't have balance info gave use a balance number but you, a person in billing, could not get access and information from the same system? She said yes, and my response was a simple "jeez". So then gets upset and says, "you know what I don't have to deal with this, I just know you are going to start cursing" then hangs up immediately. I was frustrated/annoy, but not at all yell, screaming or insulting to her. She then proceeded to not answer our follow up calls to the office, even lets the call ring a little before sending use to voicemail after a few dial tones.

Everyone was so friendly! I had a tooth removed today. Dr.Jay was amazing! He talked me through everything. Even asked me during the procedure if I was doing ok. I felt no pain or anything when he removed my tooth. Best experience I have had at the dentist! I’ll be coming back for future visits!!! I absolutely love it here!

Dr. Jay was phenomenal and so was his dental assistant, Gina! I had a great experience there today, although I had a tooth extracted. Dr. Jay had a tough time but he didn't give up! Thank you so much for taking care of me today!

They are a wonderful people, always making sure your comfortable and always makes sure you know what's being done so your not panicking even if you have anxiety at the dentist such as myself. They make the experience very easy going and always check back with you the day after procedures to make sure your still doing okay. They also got me in on very short notice for multiple painful problematic teeth which got tooken care of quickly. I highly recommend this facility for any of your future needs!

Very cordial and caring. Unlike any other Dental places they accommodated my request and were able to schedule me for the entire year. My hygienist Rowen and Dr Jay did an excellent job and explaining everything about all my concerns. Keep up the good work. Thank you

I highly recommend First Choice Dental Care - Waynesboro. They are very professional and helpful with all of their services! Any concerns I had they were there to help and guide me with the correct information or the right steps to take. The Dr. does great work and the dental assistant who I had was the best!

Rowyn is a fantastic hygienist she gets my anxiety about coming and always makes it easy to get in the chair. If you dont like the dentist they will help you through your anxiety when coming in. Everyone in the office is so sweet and caring for the patients in there care

Lovely office! Went in for severe pain, and they were the nicest office I have ever been in, in my life! They made me feel so comfortable. I will deffly be back!

My first time to a dentist in a long time. Dr. Jay is amazing and personal with his patients. The girl's in office are helpful and welcoming. I found my Dentist.

The staff was okay. Very welcoming and friendly. The dentist was very nice and informative. I call him Dr. (Jay) because he made me feel right at home and as if I was a friend. He provided excellent service and I will be coming here for all my future dental needs!Thanks a lot Dr. Jay
