We love going to Parkway Dental. Dr. Gilmer and his staff have been handling our cleanings for years. Once we had kids, my oldest started there started there for cleanings. My youngest son has Down Syndrome, so initially it was recommended that we use a pediatric dentist, which we tried with no success. After that, Dr. Gilmer’s staff worked with my son and has been successfully performing his cleanings. They are patient, gentle and never push beyond his comfort level and this is a biggie with special needs and dentistry, I am welcomed to attend his visits. Thank you, Parkway for making going to the dentist a great experience for our whole family!

From the phone call to schedule my appt to my actual appointment it was a great experience. When I got there I called to let them know I was there. I waited less than 5 minutes for them to call me in, I went straight back to X-ray then right into the room. The hygienist was amazing and was very thorough. I really enjoyed the dentist and that is hard for some people to say. The dentist was also very thorough and made sure to cover any concerns or questions right away. I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist.

Dr Gilmer retired in July 2021 and he was the best (along with his staff). However the new dentist that took over Dr Amber Pierce decided she was not accepting Cigna Insurance clients effective July 2021. I was told Cigna doesn't pay enough for their services. Only available Dentist accepting new patients and Cigna is in Johnson City. Have to wait 5 months for my appointment as new patient. If the new dentist Dr Amber Pierce had at least given Cigna patients till the end of the year, we could have changed our Dental coverage to something she accepts and wouldn't have been left high and dry. Can't change coverage in the middle of the year. So much for caring about a smooth transition for the patients.

I HATE THE DENTIST!!!—however, visiting Dr.Gilmer’s office was THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! From my initial consultation to having my extraction—just yesterday—his entire staff & his personal exam were absolutely the best dental visits I have ever had in my 50yrs. He is personable, kind, understanding & reassuring to alleviate any fears you may have about going to the dentist. His staff are very hands on & treat you with the utmost respect & dignity.
Once numb & still not sure if I was ready to get it done, my molar was removed in record time, to the point of when he got up to leave I asked him where he was going & he said “you’re done”. In had no idea the tooth was even gone!! No pain, no tugging, no jerking....nothing!! He & his technician were fantastic.
I have follow up visits for preventative care...and I’m actually looking forward to them.
