MINT dentistry | Bishop Arts

I have been a long time patient of Mint dentistry since 2014 and nothing was worse than the experience I had today. I was due for my 6 month cleaning and upon scheduling my appointment I was told that I needed to change the location that I normal go to (Mockingbird) to another location due to Mockingbird now being out of network with my insurance. I decided to scheduled an appointment at the Oak Cliff location because it was the closest thing to my house and considered one of the in network locations. My appointment was made for today Oct. 31 at 10am. I arrived at approximately 9:45am and was greeted by the front desk staff. I completely the paperwork at check in as usual and proceeded to go to the lobby to wait. I waited for roughly an hour before being called back for my cleaning. The dental hygienist comes to greet me upon me coming to the back and starts the process for taking x rays. Following the X-rays I waited another 30 min before the dentist actually came to review the X-rays and talk through my cleaning plan. Now it’s 11:30am and the cleaning hasn’t even started yet. Of all the years that I have been going to Mint I have never waited that long for a cleaning let alone that long to be seen my the physician. I don’t know if it’s just that location in Oak Cliff but the Mockingbird location was always prompt and quick and never took longer than 30 min for the cleaning. I will not be retuning to this location and am now contemplating changing dentist all together since they are no longer in network.

I was greeted immediate upon arriving.
Visit was for a routine cleaning. Treatment provided by Dr. Cunningham with assistance from Dede.
I was informed about every step and what to expect.
Dede made effort to ensure I was comfortable the entire time.

Had my annual visit today Dec 15, 2022: When I first stared coming to this location, each experience was great. I haven't been here year due to personal issues. The dental assistant greeted me at the waiting area and escorted me to my room and took my vitals and x-rays. Felt completely ignored by dentist and dental hygienist. They did a basic exam and barely clean my teeth compare to my previous experiences with other MINT dentist and dental hygienist. I did not have a good experience. Neither one of them even said good morning to me just came in and started looking at my teeth. I did not felt welcome at this location compare to previous experiences.

I am currently having the denture over implant procedure done and the Bishop Arts location is where it all started. I really enjoy the atmosphere and ambiance that Mint Dentistry create in those dentist office and for the customers. The staff is excellent. I remember sitting down with Dr. Sinn (now at the Cedar Hill location) and listening to him explain the denture procedure with me and he answering all my questions and easing my concerns. This was in 2022 and I left feeling confident that I made the right choice.

Wow this time around was an amazing experience. I came in for my husbands root canal and Jessica the dental assistant was amazing!! She explained and answered all of our questions and very politely. She was the male doctor I forgot his name The only problem here was the time coming before at the initial screening. The office manager Nancy was extremely rude and very impatient with our questions and after visit she did something strange and sent a text to us of dialogue the dialogue sent was our entire conversation at check in between husband, her, and myself I thought it was strange than, when I asked why was that text message sent, no one had a explanation or reason for it this same day the doctor was a female forgot her name as well. She came in the room, did not greet us and told my two children and I to get out “can y’all get out I’m starting the exam” . We were not in her way we were just sitting in the corner chair they have in there for family just supporting my husband She was only doing an exam no X-ray nor procedures. Today Jessica and male doctor changed my opinion and impression on this location. On top of doing an amazing job they were very nice. They allowed me to sit in through the procedure and again she was just sooo great.

This is such an upscale dentist’s office. The staff is super friendly too. We got there early and they took us back right away. They fully explain each procedure and are very thorough. My daughter had cavities and they were super fast and gentle. The bathroom is really clean too, which is so important to me. Very comfortable seating area as well.

Shanice & 6 was sooo awesome and friendly. The communication was great, very clean & professional staff! Yall come get your free Teeth whitning by the best!

Not the best experience but also my fault for going I should of looked into a speciality office. I booked a deep clean the dentist was very nice he explained everything to me as this was my second time at this location. He recommended a mouth guard to get fitted and things to do after this visit. after being there 3 hours for a deep clean and the dr stepped away I was asking about the mouth gaurd no one knew a thing about it. Very poor communication. They had 3 people try to walk to me the front and I just wanted to ask about what the dentist recommended. No one knew. One guy I guess just tried getting me fitted to get me out of there but really weither I got it not I want wanted more information about it. I over heard the other dentist in the background very rude how that wasn’t in my treatment plan and not to do it. Then over heard someone say she wants to speak the manager when I never said that.. it was very confusing once the dr stepped away how no one knew a thing. The manger then came over and said she would ask the dr I over heard her say I’ll apologize to her while speaking to him. She told me I guess the need to see if there lab can make the mouth gaurd and they’ll contact me. And never heard a thing. Very poor communication, all the focus on is teeth whitening. If your getting the basic done its fine but over all not the best service, or communication.

The staff is nice and attentive. I love the decor and the music selection when you walk through the doors. With my insurance the services are affordable and so far i haven't had any issues with the dental work. My only issue is the wait time. Plan on being there no less than 4 hours. It's ridiculous how slow they are and rather how many people they book at a time. Their is one other thing but this is with most dentist offices; there's no privacy. Where is the hippa laws? All your medical records that they ask you about aloud is free for everyone to hear. I don't like that. 😞 overall this is my dentist office 🏬

Please get organized and communicate to your patients..I took off work for my appointment and they couldn't do my cleanings. They should have called to cancel my appointment!
