I have been a patient of Dr Smith's since 2004 when I discovered her within walking distance of my office. A few years later when they moved to their beautiful new office on Greenville office, I followed because the care she provides is exactly what I look for in a dentist.
She is gentle, soft spoken, and she always spends time talking with me. I trust her skills and advise. She has always been conservative in her recommendations for treatment. When treatments are beyond the scope of her practice, the colleagues she refers me to are top notch.
They are a Family Practice in all sense of the name. Her mother was the office manager for years and her brother Carlton, does much of the front office detail. When I stopped using insurance, he helped me to get affordable prices that are actually less in total than what it was costing me before.
When she was planning to relocate, I tried in vain to get her to move to the bldg I'm in, but she found a better site and I will gladly drive a few extra miles to see her and the warm friendly staff.

I went in for a cleaning today and the ENTIRE staff from setting my appointment with Angie to the AMAZING cleaning Liz offered, to the follow up with Dr Smith. My mouth is very clean, I’m more educated, and for the first time had a great experience at the dentist. Thank you guys! I’ll be back 💕🙌🏽

Hi Carmen,
Today was an unbelievable experience at your practice. Where I showed for the first of multiple future appointments.
First, I did my due diligence in identifying an Afro-centric solution for my oral needs and found your practice. The reviews were impressively solid.
Unfortunately, I feel as though your Office Manager decided to turn down $1,840 (Treatment Plan Quote) to be a stickler on a $25 policy. Is that a smart business decision or the inability to have customer centric character?
The facts are I did reschedule my first appointment due to my wife’s birthday being a conflict. That being stated I spoke with your Office Manager the same day to explain. Not only did I own the issue with him I apologized for the inconvenience realizing you are running a business. He then proceeded to mention I would still incur a $35 missed appointment fee. Got it. I explained I would not choose my oral needs over my wife.
My second appointment was also missed due to an unforeseen auto issue the day before. Despite the unavoidable issue I sent an email early that morning explaining I would reschedule. Today, I showed up with the intent to schedule the complete treatment with your front office.
What I don’t understand is how your $25 policy would out rank the $1,840 in money to be received over the next month. Furthermore, the missed opportunity on continual care. What was the opportunity cost lost over $25 for a client that was in contact, provided reasoning and showed for the second scheduled appointment? What other opportunity cost was lost due to negative feedback to friends and family that are looking for a MWBE?
Lastly, I paid a $35 cancellation fee, but your website says there’s a $25 fee (See below). Not sure how competent your Office Manager is, but he was there when I mentioned $35 and no objection was made other than “It’s policy”. I would like a refund of $10.
Please take this and my online reviews as genuine feedback and not out of spite.
If you or anyone would like to reach out my number is on file.

5 Stars and more if possible. I will be mentioning two visits. The initial and cleaning appointment. I like most people, research thoroughly for ethical and black owned businesses for my dental needs. I found Dr. Smith Family Dentistry and was very ecstatic and nervous given I had not been to a dentist in over a decade. When I saw Dr. Smith for my initial consultation she was very knowledgeable, thorough, and straightforward in her approach and delivery of everything that I needed to get done.
I knew the work was going to be extensive and dreaded the judgment but there was none. I cannot stress how pleasantly surprised I was to see how well run the facility is, the cleanliness and sanitation post COVID-19, and the amazing diverse staff.
On my second visit I had my first periodontal cleaning by my new favorite dental hygienist Charleeceya!! This was my first real operation at Dr. Smith Family Dentistry after the initial consultation and I was very anxious. Charleecya has AMAZING bedside manners, constantly asked me if I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure, allowed me to feel apart of the process while alleviating my anxiety by allowing me see the instrument used to numb the gums and communicating what is occurring. She was even considerate of my time constraints to return to manage my team as a finance manager and yet was very thorough and left my teeth feeling as smooth as porcelain. My gums are much healthier which has led to me having more energy and less inflammation!
Charleeceya is an amazing dental hygienist and I look forward to my next appointment with her, because I know I will be in good hands. I have not had the opportunity to have Dr. Smith operate just yet, but I will next Friday and know that I will be in good hands!
So if you are looking for a ethically conscious, diverse, and prestigious dentistry then Smith Family Dentistry is where you need to be!

Dr. Smith and her staff are located in a convenient office complex on Greenville Avenue just south of LBJ. The entire office and staff offer a warm and friendly ambiance. Dr. Smith maintains a sensitive watch over her patients and is available on a moment's notice for emergency treatment. She is totally competent, thorough and gentle in her treatment, and she works with those who need time to make payment or do not have insurance. She has been my family's dentist for 16 years. We love her!

My wife and I went last year for a cleaning. My wife got told she had receding gums and needed crowns on some teeth. I got told that I had multiple cavities and needed a deep cleaning of gum and teeth. Total quote for both of us was in between 1,500-2,000.00 dollars. I waited on the cavities (THANK GOODNESS), but went with their recommendation and paid the fee for the deep cleaning on the spot. They were friendly and seemed competent.
Something just seemed off about the whole thing, though, so Mallory went for a second opinion at another dentist we know and love. According to this dentist, Mallory's gums were fantastic, and she said there was no way crowns were called for. I decided to not do anything about the "cavities" Dr Smith told me I had, not really believing it after Mallory's "miraculous recovery."
We just went for our checkups at a different dentist this week, and the dentist gave both me and Mallory a clean bill of health, stating that as long as we keep flossing and brushing, our mouths are great!
I do not know if Dr Smith was not telling us the truth or if she was just seriously wrong (I hope beyond hope she was just seriously wrong, because they did seem like friendly people) , but either way we will NOT be going back to this office.

I found Smith Family Dentistry to be professional, courteous and personable. They set forth a viable treatment plan explained in detail while interacting with me on a one-on-one level. They're the best!

Excellent experience, starting with Terry who answer my call and explain the process and help me with my insurance, the lady who perform my deep cleaning ( I don't remember her name) but I remember how good she was, no pain, no bleeding, very good hand ! After full X-rays Dr. Kyle Smith explain step by step my problems and the procedures, he was very profesional and he use advance technology to see cavities and other problems, no waiting time when you set up an appointment. Prices are good compare with others dentist, you will have nice experience with this team, Highly recommended. Thank you.

I would not recommend this dentist. I was told I would be refunded for services in 30 days and it's going on two months. I asked for an update on the refund and was told that it was sent and it's up to my insurance company to receive it. I asked the amount or address and was told that I would not be given any more information. Even the staff laughed while I was inquiring regarding my refund and told me the dentist did not want to speak anymore. I feel like once they received my money, they didn't really care what happened after that. This whole experience went from good to very unprofessional.
