I have to say that I feel a little taken advantage by J and A Dental considering I had really high hopes for them. A few months ago, I received a flyer in the mail for a $59 exam and cleaning. Naturally, I made the appointment because it was such a great deal and I was looking for a dentist around the Buda area. Made the appointment, went in, had the exam, was told was needed and all the work would be thousands of dollars. I spent over an hour in the exam chair only to leave with no cleaning and was told my insurance would cover the visit which I assumed would be the $59 that was advertised.
This has been sitting heavy on me for months that I still left without a cleaning. I decide to call today to speak to someone about it. I was told that the reason I didn’t get a clean was because I needed a deeper clean than normal and they probably didn’t have time that day. I asked, why I couldn’t just get the regular clean that was advertised and she said she didn’t know.
Out of curiosity I ask how much my insurance was charged and turns out it was $170. I asked why it wouldn’t the $59 advertised and was told that it was only for noninsured patients. I asked, “so I should have just lied and said I didn’t have insurance?”. She said she can understand where I was coming from but didn’t have any answers.
It’s so disappointing to know that My insurance was billed more than double than an ‘uninsured patient’. Feels like it was a scam to get me in the door and then not follow through with the advertised promotion.
Even more hurtful that many people have had 5 star service and love this dental office. I really did have high hopes and even higher expectations.
Sadly, I was also told I’d receive a call back and still nothing.

Very happy this office was open during COVID 19 pandemic, I knew I needed a root canal but I did not think I would get one so fast, same day. Dr. Collin was very informative and clear on the process. I felt he was very thorough in the procedure. The office was nice and staff was super friendly. I did like the text message alerts and easy online new patient docs.

Dr. Ferdkoff and team were great. I had quite a few questions and I felt like he took the time to explain things so that I could understand. I have a distrust of dentists due to experiences earlier in life. They all made me feel very comfortable. I will be back soon to follow up on care and get my problems taken care of.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I woke up on a Tuesday with severe tooth pain and needed a dentist ASAP. I took my chances and called to see if I could get in the same day. To my surprise, they got me in. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the moment I called to the moment I checked out. The dentist and hygienist were very informative, understanding and comforting. I highly recommend them. Needless to say I’ve found my new dentist.
