Gunnerson Dental: K. Cheyn Gunnerson, DMD

Be sure to read through all the fine print they have you sign when you first become a patient. I had an emergency and had to go out of town or work the day before a scheduled appointment. Communicated with them the day before my appointment that I would have to reschedule. They responded by sending me a bill for a $400 cancelation fee. Guess I know how they paid for that fancy new office. I have owned and run a business for 16 years and would never treat a customer in this fashion, I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but my goodness, $400 for a cancelation fee when I called the day before to reschedule. Its a pity they can do that and feel good about the way they do business.

I have had nothing but problems with their billing. I have a payment agreement with the office and the new billing manager said it was no longer valid since she has taken office. When I asked about billing our insurance (double covered) she said we bill as a courtesy and it is the patient's responsibility to get the insurance company to pay. The billing has been messed up since the first bill. They over charge for services but make you feel better with free chapstick and a warm blanket.

Nearly every piece of dental work my family members have received from Gunnerson Dental have "failed" in one way or another, as well as issues of being severely over-charged. When these issues were brought to attention of the staff and owners, they refused to do anything to right their mistakes. Naturally, they were given a bad review on Google. Gunnerson dental then dared send a threatening letter stating that if the bad review wasn't taken down they would "take legal actions" against the family! Um, have you ever heard of first amendment rights? I am so disgusted that a "home-town business" like Gunnerson Dental would stoop so low as sending empty threats to innocent families who have done nothing wrong, just to keep their Google reviews high. They have lost a lot of good customers due to these horrendous actions.

I've been coming here ever since I was a little kid and now my wife also goes as well. Doctor Gunnerson and his team are a fantastic group of people! I'd highly recommend a visit!

Great dentist. I have been going to him for a long time. The "comfort menu" is a great idea. The best is, for those unfortunate times when a shot is required, he know how to give one without feeling it at all. The hygenists are all fantastic too.

Buyer beware!! Gunnerson dental will put on a nice show until you have to deal with their dishonest ,overpriced ,unprofessional back alley business practices that only care for one thing—-Money!! After recently moving to the payson area I went to Gunnerson dental for a routine check up (which was supposed to be covered 100% by my insurance) the front desk was friendly and all went well. A few weeks later, before a bill was received in the mail, their billing department starts harassing my wife constantly by txt and calls asking her to pay an additional $300 plus dollars after insurance already paid. I request that they call me directly to talk about the bill and my wife gives them my number , months go by and I don’t receive one call or txt so I finally call them and talk to a very rude unprofessional woman that tells me she is going to send the bill to collections if I don’t pay now, I ask why she didn’t call me as I requested and she tells me she didn’t have time, I request to speak to upper management and she tell me it won’t do any good because there is nothing she or they can do to help me.

Bottom line is they are dishonest and completely unprofessional when it comes to the behind the scenes work.
Don’t trust them and will never go back.

This has nothing to do with the dentist himself. It's more so with the new.. staff. I've been seeing them for 4 yrs .It started off very welcoming.. very spa like.. it's still like that to some extent, but not the welcoming side of it. I've had issues with them charging fees cause of canceling I was unaware of. Yet they constantly moved my times around to adjust to their needs... they were very accepting of my kids and and now that doesnt seem to be the case I alway get a sitter but when I couldnt they were happy to help..insist that I come in back then. Now I'am told they will not be accepted which I understand. But they never relayed that to me just sent me a letter that was rather upsetting. I'd prefer they just would of told me. Yet they have been pressuring me to bring my kids for checkups.. and how I'm going to have problems for waiting on it. I will be writing a letter. There is more I could say . But yea..

My temporary crowns busted off from a previous dentist that put them on. These guys are awesome and took me right in on a Friday last minute before I had to leave to St. George to a dance competition! I am eternally grateful that I didn't have to go to a big event missing one of my front teeth. I will be back to do all of my future work here he has updated equipment and can make your crowns on site!

We have been going to Dr. Gunnerson for some time now. I never thought to write a review until now. The NuCalm system they have is absolutely amazing. My son, who is 15, used it during a more challenging visit and he said the relief from the anxiety was better than using nitrous gas. He was in the chair for 2 hours and 95% of the time, NuCalm had him sleeping! I can't wait to try it for myself.

Very personable. Listen to my concerns. Good hygienists. Dr. Gunnerson does his work well. I've never had a problem with the cavities that have needed filling.
