We first saw Dr Swan a month ago as he bought the practice earlier this year. We’d loved he previous dentist so I was hoping we’d like him as well-we do!! He actually caught a cavity in two of my kids that had been missed at our checkup last fall by the previous dentist. His work fixing those was amazing, he really cares about his patients both adults and kids and really values his patients’ trust. He did some extensive work on our youngest child and was amazing with him-calling not only later that day to check up on him, but again the following day. Our daughter had an infection develop under a tooth so she had that tooth and the one next to it pulled this morning and he was so helpful with her as she was a tad nervous-it was a super positive experience for her. Our other son had a small cavity, but was nervous as that was his first experience with a filling and he got a tad worked up while they were drilling-Dr Swan wasn’t flustered or annoyed, he calmly told our son to just take some breaths in and out through his nose and I think his calmness kept our little guy calm. I could go on about his willingness to explain things, to talk through any diagnostic questions etc he really is great! One of the best parts though is his desire to have the kids happy-they loved the balloon animals he made them, truly an awesome dentist all around for kids and adults.

Even though we were very late, they got us in and were kind. They were patient with all my kids and didn’t push them past their comfort zones. They don’t push unnecessary fillings. The dentist talks to you like a friend rather than talking down to you. He takes time to explain things while still being quick to get everyone done. They have a fun loft with toys in the waiting room and two large fish tanks in the entryway.

I took my granddaughter in for some dental work and had to be put under, and she was nervous of course, the dentist was really nice and worked with her to get her calmed down He was awesome to work with. My granddaughter was happy afterwards. The staff is wonderful to work with also 🙂

Dr. Stringham is a good dentist, but the communication in this office isn’t the best. They’re really good at reminding you of appointments, but when you’re waiting on them for something, it needs some work. I love all the personalization during appointments, like music. They’re even happy to change the room temperature to accommodate me. I’ve also never had to wait long to be taken back to the chair. There are a lot of positives, so I’m weighing more toward 4 stars than 3.

We had such a great experience with Dr. Swan! Dr. Swan is amazing with children and helping them feel at ease. He makes the whole dentist experience fun and relaxing. He takes the time to listen to parent concerns and gives all possible options for a solution. He helps you decide what is best for you and your child.

I just moved to Salem and was overdue for a dental cleaning. The lovely staff at SS fit me in for a cleaning within a couple of days. Heather at the front desk was pleasant and greeted me by name when I came in. I was taken back for my appointment quickly. My hygienist was Ann and she was SO sweet. She made what was usually a boring or unpleasant experience really enjoyable. She was a pleasure to chat with and wonderful at her job. I'm so glad I came to Salem Smiles and highly recommend them for dental care!
