Outstanding Oral Surgeon and Staff! Our experiences here at North Star have been beyond Amazing! Dr. Hompesch, always so friendly, warm..and knowledgeable. Procedures performed with such skill and expertise. Extracted all of my son's wisdoms last year and my daughter's 4 wisdoms last month. Total success..Zero recovery issues with either procedure! I would advise the public never ever go to Dr Hompesch’s office. I had an infected molar and the novacaine didn’t work, no matter how many shots he gave me. Cold turkey, I endured what amounted to an experience from the Dark Ages. He didn’t know what to do to alleviate the immense pain as he ripped out part of the molar’s wall sheathe, a curved two-prong rooted molar, connected to a gold bridge. I experienced some of the worst pain of my life and they wanted to be sure they were well paid on the spot. While he has great manners, the service was an expensive tragedy and done by a person who had no idea of the comfort of the patient nor how to approach the extraction with expertise. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR. SARAH SATOW at Fairbanks Oral Surgery, 455-4010. SATOW TAKES AS MUCH TIME AS NEEDED FOR THE PATIENT'S CARE AND SHE HAS TWICE THE SURGICAL EXPERIENCE OF HOMPESCH or Dr. VAN LEEUWEN. Dr. Satow makes sure the patient’s oral area is numb and she is wise and expert at delivering what needs doing. Fairbanks is very blessed to have Satow and she should be supported. While Hompesch is nice (although his staff was not and the office policy was cash on the barrelhead now), he simply lacks the understanding of how to put the patient first and take care of them at the best level.

My daughter recently had oral surgery by another provider who went out of town following surgery for nearly two weeks (we weren't informed that he was going to be out of town with no coverage when we scheduled). Anyhow, my daughter was having some concerns and North Star did not hesitate to see her even though they didn't do the initial surgery. They contacted us first thing in the morning and got her in right away. They staff and provider were very professional and kind. If you are in need of oral surgery I highly recommmend North Star Facial & Oral Surgery!
