Gentle Family Dentist Avondale and Dental Implants

I made the bad choice of not visiting the dentist after a tooth chipped a little over 3 years ago. I was experiencing about 4 days of pain every couple months. Well this month it SKYROCKETED! The headache was absolutely agonizing! I was told I need a root canal 2 months prior to this & I would simply CRINGE at the thought of this procedure that truly has gained a bad reputation. Everyone feels the need to tell you their "horror stories" in the case you bring up that you need one. Being a mom, I knew I HAD to take care of this....& soon. I could not go on like this. Two family members had been to this dentist just months prior, one of them had a root canal done here & HIGHLY recommended that I check them out. From the moment I walked into this dental office I felt my nerves immediately begin to calm. A beautiful, soothing atmosphere, with superb customer service. The hygienist, Blair was above and beyond! (she knew I was nervous) Offered a blanket in the case I got cold, was super attentive, & always made sure I was comfortable with every step. Best bed side manner yet! They were a bit busy that day, but being that I had amped myself to just get this over with I said I would wait. They numbed the side of my mouth to be worked on & had me relax and watch a movie in a room to myself. The procedure was pretty much seamless. What I had gotten myself SO worked up and anxious for was seriously for nothing. I am very please with the outcome of Dr. Morejon's work & Blair there to assist him. I have already spread the word to my friends and family about this office. THANK YOU for finally bringing me the relief I NEEDED!!!

I have always loved their services and they are truly Gentle. I have a bad back and they go to extremes to make sure I am comfortable before they start. Great dental updates and newest equipment.

I did not want to have to leave details on why I gave a 1 star because it really is not in my nature, but I do not want to be contacted ( phone or email) again by this dental business.
The receptionist and the women who took me back initially were very kind and respectful. The dentist did not wear gloves when he first went looking in my mouth. He washed his hands first but touched other items right after which defeats the purpose of having clean hands. I came in for a very specific issue with a wisdom tooth. I mentioned it when I first made my appointment and multiple times at the appointment. I had an additional cavity on that same tooth, and despite it being on the surface and not on the inside of my tooth at the gumline near my tongue as I had mentioned.... the dentist claimed he did not see it before when the dental hygienist pointed it out to him at the end of my cleaning. When I stated that was the spot I had been referring to the entire time, the dentist claimed he did not see it because there was "too much plaque" covering it. Keep in mind I was able to SEE the issue without having dental training. I did not have any pain, I just knew that what I saw was an issue.
My dental hygienist was very rude!! I could list all the rude comments she made, but that's probably not necessary. I was new to Arizona and went here because my boyfriend went here for a "free" cleaning as well. He has not gone back either and is seeing a new dentist. This is the first bad experience I have ever had at a dentist. I chose a new dentist who saw my issue right away and I am having the wisdom tooth extracted. My new dentist explained he would never have fixed it with a filling or a possible crown as this dentist had suggested. Usually this wouldn't be too big of a red flag as every doctor is different in execution of treatment; however, if he missed the issue entirely in the first place who knows if his plan of action would have been appropriate.
My interaction with the dentist was disconcerting, but not to the extent that I would have left such a poor review. He was at least respectful overall. I did not come in being disrespectful to staff. I was not disrespectful to the hygienist. I do not go to receive care only to be belittled. The interaction I had with her is what really sent me over the edge to leave a review as she is the one I spent the majority of my time with. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional medical professional before this time.
Edit: They told me I needed 4 cavities worked on. The new dentist I went to has told me I have no cavities except for the one (I was already aware of) in the tooth they pulled anyway. This is a shady dental practice. Get a second opinion before having any work done by them!!!

We are new to the area, and I hadn't been to a dentist in over 2 years, (I know better, but I have a lot of dental anxiety). After I explained that I NEED a GENTLE hygienist, a member of my hiking club recommended Dr. Clausen and his staff. I felt like I hit the jackpot. Lori was the dream hygienist that everyone wishes for. She was not only extremely gentle, she was knowledgeable and experienced. She explained in detail some of the issues she saw, and the best part of all, (besides being gentle), was the fact that she was non-judgemental about my flossing, or lack thereof. Dr. Clausen was equally gentle and non-judgemental, and unlike any other first visit to a new dentist, he did not try to over-sell any additional work. He showed me the digital images of the cracks I have on a tooth with a previously filled cavity, and suggested a crown, (which I knew I'd need), but he was very low key about everything. Most people would be dreading having to return for a crown, but surprisingly, and in spite of my dental anxiety, I will be returning happily to this office. From the front office staff to the back office, everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. I am so happy to have found them.

The level of understanding and compassion that Dr. Clausen and his staff showed towards me and my treatment has been phenomenal!!! I put off going to get a cleaning done for a few years due to my last dentist no understanding the fear that I have of dentist and Dr. Clausen not only treated me with the outmost care but he brought back my smile!!! I recommend this office to everyone!

My husband and I are both patients since last year. My husband had dentures completed and I had a crown completed. We are very pleased with the work we’ve had done. The doctor and staff were thoughtful and caring. We would definitely recommend Dr. Clausen and the Avondale Gentle Family Dentistry staff for all your dental needs.

I have always been EXTREMELY scared of going to the Dentist. But this place is top notch. The front desk staff, hygienist and Both Doctors are all amazing. I have not found a nicer place to go to get dental work done. They know me by my first name and always make me feel like family. I will forever go to Dr Clausen and thank him for the superior dental care.

After moving to Avondale, from Los Angeles, I was eager to find a new dentist. After searching online, I took a chance with Dr. Clausen. My choice was excellent! The overall experience was exceptional. Lori and his is staff was very courteous and provided excellent customer service. Dr. Clausen explained what was "necessary" and what matters were "elective" which I could take care of another time. I will be making appointments for the rest of my family. I highly recommend Gentle Family Dentistry.

I was not a fan of the dentist for 10+ years but one day due to a really bad tooth ache I had no choice but to not only find a dentist but go to one. It was a last minute thing towards the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. Everyone I talked to told me the chances of getting in with a dentist on a Friday were slim to none . But, my wife called around and found Gentle Family Dentistry. I'll be honest I was very hesitant and even told my wife to not make the appointment after she found out there was availability but she convinced me. Then on the way over to meeting me at the dental office, my wife gets in a car accident and in my eyes those were all the signs not to go to the dentist. Some how we still made it in time for the appointment my wife is tired and shaken and I'm in pain from my tooth.
When we walked in they were very pleasant, nice, and welcoming. They got me in a chair right away ( I was still nervous) did an x-ray, told me my options, and out came my tooth. The procedure was painless and quick!! The hygienist Holly is the best! She definitely helped to restore my confidence in going to the dentist and put me at ease with this procedure and future ones I have coming up. Everyone there is knowledgeable, professional, and makes you feel like family. So, even though the day started off bad with a tooth ache, my wife getting in a car accident, and me thinking some of those were signs not to go to the dentist, I'm glad I went anyway it was totally worth it.

I called Dr Claussens office because I felt a chipped tooth. They got me right in within 24 hours. The procedure was completely pain free even with a filling. Excellent experience.
