Gentle Dental Marana

My family have been coming to this office for a few years now my kids love the office, the hygienist Joseph takes his time to do a good job and educate the kids on good hygiene. The Doctors are always upbeat and ease the experience for the kids thank you Gentle Dental.

The staff was amazing. I was made to feel comfortable from the time I walked through the door. I was met by courteous staff who answered any questions that I had. Going in to have a tooth pulled is never a fun experience but I was put at ease by the thoughtfulness of the staff. They explained every step before anything was done and laughed and talked with me and treated me as more than just another person to push through the door. Everything about billing was all up front with no hidden costs or fees. I would highly recommend Gentle Dentists to anyone and everyone.

I really don't like going to the dentist, but for the past 10 years I have been going to the office in Marana. Everyone is wonderful there, they are all so nice. They take the fear out of going to the dentist. Every procedure is explained. They are patient, and always make you feel comfortable. I even had braces. Gentle Dental is Gentle.

I scheduled an appointment months in advance because they book up quickly. For new patients you need 2 appointments, 1 for the consult/X-rays etc, and the second for the actual cleaning. The only way to do a cleaning same day was to schedule 2 appointments for the same day. They sent me emails confirming my 10 am appointment, and they even called me personally to confirm my 10 am appointment. I show up and after waiting half an hour ( still waiting as I type this it is now 10:52 am) I walk up to the front desk and ask how much longer? She tells me they have me down for only 1 hour at 11 am. After explaining that my appointment was at 10 she informs me that they have me down for 11 but will check to see if they can get me in. I show her the email confirmation and she blames it on their automated system. It is now 10:55 and I'm still waiting.
*Update to 3 stars from 1 star. When I finally got in for the cleaning (at 11) the dental assistant was very empathetic and provided great customer service. The dental hygienist was also great! Front desk staff just did not handle the problem well. I also got a call same day from operations to discuss my experience (due to this review). I will go back and give them another shot.

What a wonderful doctor and nurse. Doctor Lacey and Shelly made my extractions pain-free quick and easy compared to other extractions that I've had in the past at other places. I would have to say Gentle Dental is top-notch a tooth Above the Rest thank you

Pro: Very nice people & informational.
Con: I had a pretty expensive appointment just for a specialist to tell me that I should get my tooth removed instead of a root canal. The money I paid for just that could have gone to the actual removal and procedure. I came to Gentle Dental because I thought that “Gentle” meant that they help out financially too. Unfortunately they do not do payment plans.

I prefer a private practice personally, but as chains go this specific location isn't bad, just not the best. My appointment was rescheduled three times, one out of those three times it was moved to a completely different time in error which I only discovered through an email confirmation. So mistakes are made, like everywhere else, but they do seem to be eager and capable of rectifying them. I especially like Dr. Shannon; he's very knowledgeable, thorough and personable. A plus is that they're open one Saturday a month. They seem to have frequent doctor turnovers, but all together a good practice.

Hello i went yesterday for an emergency extraction, Note i am terrified of dentists so i was very apprehensive-yet all went well with the xrays doctor consultation -the dentist was excellent very professional and very gentle, the dental aide was kind and sweet, but the “coordinator” Teresa was the complete opposite- she was overly concerned with upselling- she was demanding, condescending and had no compassion what so ever. I was shocked in 2021 you would think customer service and patient care would be routine, its sad because if not for her this would be a five star rating. Its important to remember why ur in the healthcare business-you are dealing with people, so one needs to be sensitive to that important part of their job.

Everyone there made me feel so at ease. They are truly interested in making you feel welcome and comfortable. They are the most gentle. My dentist was even a cutie 😜.

I was very disappointed with my wait. I arrived for my 10:00 am appointment at about 9:55. I signed and initialed a couple of pages and then sat down to wait my turn. At 10:30 I was still waiting. I asked the receptionist how long I was going to be waiting and she walked back to check with the hygienist. She came back and said it would be about 5 minutes. At 10:45 I was finally called back. For my 10:00 appointment.

As for the work itself, the hygienist, Joseph, did a good job. I mean, it's not pleasant to have metal objects poking around your teeth and gums but as far as that goes, it was a good experience.

UPDATE: I showed up this morning (8/3/2021) at 9:15 for my 9:30 appointment. There was no one at the reception desk and I ended up waiting 15 minutes just standing there. I could hear the ladies chatting it up in the break room. One of them came out only after I called out to them twice. Not impressed.
