Gentle Dental Marana

I am a 57 yr. old female who hates going to the dentist.. I made an appointment with Gentle Dental and was pleasantly surprised with the courteous & kindness of the staff. I was the last patient of the day and not one person made me feel rushed, The dental hygienist Stephanie was wonderful. Then I met Dr. Laos, he was professional, kind, compassionate and explained what was going to happen each step of the way. I wish I would have found him 20 years ago, it would have saved me much pain. I will definitely be going back, as I have already booked my next appointment. Thank you all for making this experience a lovely one.

Had a tooth break during the weekend. They scheduled me in the beginning of the week. It went pretty good for being my first time with them. The staff is polite and nice, I would greatly recommend this place to anybody.

I've been a loyal Gentle Dental customer for 15+ years. Always very pleased with the level of customer service and professionalism from all of the staff. Highly recommend!

I very rarely write reviews, because I am seldom impressed enough to do so. My first impression of Gentle Dental was not the best due to having to sit in the waiting room for an extended period of time after my scheduled appointment time. However, what they say about some things are worth the wait, certainly applies in this case! Everyone apologized profusely for my having to wait and I definitely got the feeling this was NOT the norm. I was treated with such kindness by Theresa, the front office gal while being checked in and out. She thoroughly explained in detail the cost involved in my care with great patience. Luis, the X-ray technician clearly saw my fear about being there (because of Covid) and before starting anything he explained every single precaution they were taking to keep everyone safe. His kindness was appreciated more than he probably knows. Courtney, the Dental Hygienist, was sweet, gentle and did an excellent job cleaning my teeth! Last, but certainly not least, Dr. Neish. He made me feel like I was the only patient in the building!!! He spent so much time with me, examining my teeth, answering all my questions and concerns. He made me feel like I wasn’t just another patient or $$$, but that he truly cared. Good Dentist and dental practices are hard to find. I am thankful to have found Gentle Dental and Dr. Neish.

This place is a joke. I would give them zero stars if it was an option. I have an extreme fear of dentists so had been putting off going for a long time. I finally went in because of tooth pain and was told I needed to start with a root canal and come back asap to get a crown. I did what was advised. I got the root canal at a different office (because of course they can’t do this there) and then called a few days later to schedule the crown for about a week and a half later. Because of my fear, the dentist prescribed me Valium to take before I came in. I called THE DAY OF my appointment to verify when I should take the pill. I came to my appointment, checked in, and waited to be called back. The girl (who was super rude) put the little bib on as if this was going to happen. Then the dentist came in and proceeds to tell me that the Dr who did my root canal sent a letter advising that I would need a procedure called crown lengthening before he could do the crown. Of course this would cost more, require even more time off, and would have to be done by someone else at a later date. I asked why they would let me come in on Valium if they couldn’t even do it. The excuse was that no one let the dentist know that this letter came so he had no idea until just then. I told them this was unacceptable and would not be getting anything else done at this office. My husband and I spoke to a manager about this and she basically just made excuses and made it seem like this was no big deal. I had to take time off of work for this and push through my fear to even go in. This place is very unorganized and doesn’t care about their patients. I would not recommend Gentle Dental to anyone.

I’ve had two cleanings by Joseph now and each time he does an exceptional job. He is gentle and lets me know what he’s doing as he’s working to ease my nerves. The ladies working at the front desk are also always so friendly and professional. I’m glad I found this office.

The staff at this Gentle Dental location is fab!!!! They just hired a new dental hygienist name Amanda that is a great addition to the team. The ladies at Gentle Dental Marana are simply the kindest and most professional ladies I know

I was very disappointed with my experience with the exception of the hygienist that cleaned my teeth. I had called to set up an appointment for a dental exam and cleaning, plus I wanted a chipped filling looked at. I was not told over the phone that the cleaning was not done in the appointment for first time customers, but was told while x-rays were being done and so I had to schedule a 2nd appointment. The dentist looked at my x-rays and was trying to sell me on having 3 crowns (one was definitely needed). I felt like I was with a used car salesman. When I said I wanted a Cerec crown and not a traditional crown, he lost interest in the appointment as he did not have the equipment to do it. I scheduled an appointment with my regular dentist in another state. My regular dentist said I only needed the one crown for the tooth with the chipped filling and that the other 2 teeth looked fine. He saw on the x-rays that were sent to him from Gentle Dental that I had a cavity and the dentist at Gentle Dental had not bothered to mention it. The hygienist was very nice and she did a good job as was confirmed by my regular dentist.

Dr. Laos is fantastic! Definitely puts the "gentle" in Gentle Dental.

UPDATE 6/2018: Sadly, Dr. Laos left Gentle Dental many months back. He and the hygenist, Esther, were in large part why I continued to bring my family here despite constant challenges with appointments, billing and insurance issues born out of poor communication. Today I've had enough. I scheduled follow-up appointments with Esther six months ago for my kids the last time their teeth were cleaned, only to have the office call me two weeks before the appointment date to tell me they were cancelled because the hygenist won't be in that day. I called to reschedule the new appointments and the best they could do was to offer new appointments FOUR MONTHS LATER?!? This is not acceptable and, moreover, this is not the first time they've done this to me. This office suffers from a severe lack of customer service that is harder and harder to overlook. When I had my daughter in to see the orthodontist at this same location the week prior they had us still sitting in the waiting room 30 minutes past her appointment time and when I said something, they hadn't even bothered to pull her chart yet and let the provider know she was waiting. Nor did they tell me he was running behind when I checked in. Infuriating! Time to start looking for a new dentist. Quality of care is of little use to me if I can't get in to see someone in a reasonable timeframe.

My experience at Gentle Dental/Cortaro (Marana) was outstanding from start to finish. The reception and check-in staff were friendly, courteous, and professional. They offered and explained the various options I had for that morning's cleaning procedure. My dental hygienist was also friendly, professional, answered my questions fully, and offered some welcome advice. Overall, this was a very pleasant and pain-free experience. Great job, Gentle Dental!
