Dentists of Coral Gables

Stay away from this dental office. Run for your life. If you want to keep your teeth in place and healthy, do not go to this office. I went to this office due to mandibular pain and Doctor Sangiovanni diagnosed me with a molar infection. She offered to me a tooth extraction, procedure that she was not able to finish. After two hours trying to extract the tooth, I was informed by her that she could not complete the surgery without giving me reasons. On top of that, she told me that I have to find an oral surgeon to complete the procedure and gave me a list of possible surgeons in the area. She did not make any efforts to contact a specialist to resolved her unfinished work and major mistake. I think that her unprofessional way to resolve my problem and her careless attitude scared me so much that I am very traumatized by the experience. Please do not go there. Money is the only thing that moves the office. 0 star

Dentists of Coral Gables taught me that hustlers aren't always selling bootleg DVDs in strip mall parking lots. Sometimes they have college degrees and wear white lab coats. Here's the backstory. After many years with my previous dentist, I had to find a new one due to a change in my dental insurance. I found Dentists of Coral Gables, and I was ready to ride out with them indefinitely. However, they chose to sacrifice a long term patient in exchange for a short term hustle. Last year, my old dentist told me my teeth were in great health, which was along the lines of what I'd been told for years. This year, all of a sudden, according to Dentists of Coral Gables, I had to have this elaborate procedure done that wasn't covered by my insurance, costing me hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Not wanting to take any chances with my dental health, I went ahead with the procedure, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't necessary. After all, my dental hygiene habits have not changed. There's no reason why my dental health would deteriorate so rapidly from one year to the next. The end result is, Dentists of Coral Gables was able to hustle me out of a few hundred dollars, but they lost out on having a loyal patient for many years. Needless to say, I will be seeking out another dentist next year.

UPDATE (3 years later): Since I wrote my review for Dentists of Coral Gables about 3 years ago, I have gone to different dentists twice a year for my routine cleanings and X-rays. None of them have mentioned me needing anything like the procedure I had at Dentists of Coral Gables. In fact, all the dentists have remarked how my dental health is in pretty good shape, and I have thankfully not had any serious issues. I'm writing this to provide context and longer term proof that what Dentists of Coral Gables did to me was indeed a hustle. I notice many of the reviews Dentists of Coral Gables has gotten other than mine have been positive. I'm glad to see that for the sake of the patients going there. Maybe Dentists of Coral Gables changed its ways and realized that hustling patients into getting expensive unnecessary procedures is not the way to long-term success.

This is the most professional, pleasant, knowledgeable group and dental office. They take their time to explain things without being patronizing towards their patients. You never feel your concerns are ignored. My whole family now comes here.

I have been seen by Dr. Valdivia. She is a true professional! It begins from the moment she enters the room asking how you are doing, responding to your concerns with care, and answering all your questions, which helps to reduce anxiety. It continues with her remarkable expertise in numbing the area, extracting the tooth, and placing the implant.
Her assistant Kim provided great explanations. The front dest staff are knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful.
All and all great experience. Best periodontist I could ever recommend!

Great dentist office with friendly and knowledgeable front desk staff. No issues with insurance submissions, know my share to pay, etc. Dr. Mauskar is awesome and explains everything. Hygienists are very thorough in their work. Highly recommend.

Unprofessional and dishonest service . They are looking for money to every "treatment" that you need . I payed 1050 Us, for a root canal and a Crown in a previous broken tooth . after treatment I was still in pain and after SCAN (120), they discovered that my tooth was broken (that was the first step that they had to do ). They extracted my molar and suggested me an implant (4500) . I had to see another professional and honest dentist. They also suggest me extract my wisdom teeth, "supposedly" I had pus and huge infection . They didn't know that I worked with health services and I knew what were looking for ($$$$). Be careful with the smile generation financial credit card .

I had a horrible experience at this office. I spent a total of five hours there only to get a botched filling. First, the hygienist numbed the wrong side of my mouth. After my filling, I had increased sensitivity to my molar and pain for weeks and then months. I was worried I got a botched filing so I saw another dentist at a different office. Turns out, the dentist at this office cracked my molar and the filing was hanging on like a piece of gum to the back of my molar while my cavity was fully exposed. The backside of my molar was also extremely jagged that I couldn't even get floss in. Thankfully, the other dentist was able to fix my filing and save my molar. I am disturbed that this happened and this is essentially malpractice. Do not come unless you want to risk losing a tooth. Not sure how they even have a legitimate license.
