Van Dyke General and Implant Dentistry

Dr. Van Dyke is the kindest and most selfless man in the dentistry world!!! He saved my husband from excruciating pain and came in on his day off to perform an emergency procedure on my husband when all other dentists in the area said "No." He is my husbands new hero and we will forever be grateful to him. My husband woke up screaming in pain in the middle of the night. His tooth was hurting so bad that he couldn't sleep, could barely speak, and couldn't stop crying.(this man never cries). We called every dentist we found on Google and noons would help. We called the ER at both Shands and NFRMC and both said that there was nothing they could do until Monday. Finally, we found Dr. Van Dyke's number. We called him and got his assistant who said the doctor would call us ASAP. He called 30 seconds later. We described the situation and he said that he could see us first thing in the morning on a Sunday. My husband cried himself to sleep still in pain, but we were so happy someone was willing to help. We got to his office at 8am. Dr. Van Dyke brought us right in, my husband still crying, the doctor numbed him up and then found the problem. My husband had developed an abscess under his molar. The abscess had eaten away at his jawbone. The doctor quickly performed an emergency procedure and extracted the tooth then cleaned out the infection in the abscess.
My husband felt immediate relief and substantial pain loss. He was so grateful to the doctor that he gave him a big hug!

The experience with the staff was fantastic. Very friendly and knew what they were doing. However the fact that they quoted me around 150$ for a new patient and by the time they had me to the desk it was $345. They take extra procedures and do not notify you of an increase the charges till your stuck with the bill at the end. Would be great if they told me about the charges before hand. If cost isn't an issue then go there for great service. But if your a college student on a budget. MAKE SURE TO TELL THEM TO TELL YOU ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT THEY WILL CHARGE FOR. If they can charge you, they will.

So I called this office around 10am after an extremely difficult 2 days of pain and an ER visit, based on a recommendation from an ER employee. I let them know what was going on, and they said (and I read on google) they closed at 1pm but if I left right then, I would be seen. So I did, understanding this was a situation where I would be "worked in" and I was completely fine with that. So I waited for about an hour and a half and they called me back. The assistant I dealt with was very helpful& pleasant, but the dentist was awful and impatient. She was very pushy, and let me know SEVERAL times, they were there "late" on my account(It's now 1:15pm) in a very condescending tone. Long story short, I was in no mood to have her do ANYTHING to my mouth, as I did not trust her to execute the procedure properly with her rushing as she had.

Absolutely zero bedside manner for patients undergoing tooth extractions. No communication between Dr Waters and Dr Van Dyke. Dr Waters seems like she just got out of school with not much experience. Dr Van Dyke blows your concerns off like a pompous jerk and gets mad when you ask questions regarding your care! Never going back and recommend anyone to steer clear of them!

I have been extremely pleased with the work that has been done by both Dr's Bill & Rachael Van Dyke.Rachael is my primary Dentist, and I couldn't be more impressed with both the care & expertise she exhibited in completing a number of procedures for me. Besides doing a great job with the work itself, I have never experienced such pain free dental care and I felt it was worth mentioning.

They are absolutely amazing!!!! They got me in ASAP and got me fixed and out so quickly! I am definitely sticking to them!!

I have been going to Dr. Van Dyke for years and his expertise, professionalism and services never fails. He is the best! His staff is great also.

Both Bill and Rachael Van Dyke do excellent work and I would highly recommend them. Their dental practice has been in the Gainesville community for many years.

So great. My wife had a dental emergency with a mess d up and infected wisdom tooth. They took care of her in the spot as a first time walk-in and everyone was so friendly and nice. I can’t thank them enough.
